IIRC, the idea was that his mind was based on Tony's, and that's why they're similar, but it didn't make it into the movie. The quips aren't the problem with MCU Ultron, the problem was that he was never allowed to look like he could actually defeat any of the Avengers in a solo fight. They at least got it right that Ultron is angry and insane, too many people think he should be like in EMH.

Agreed that we never got a true to form Ultron as in the comics BUT seeing as now the stain of Ultron falls mostly on Stark now, MCU Hank is totally and entirely exonerated for not only Ultron but also the SLAP. I wouldn’t be surprised if Strange 2, WandaVision, and AM3 aren’t somehow related and I wouldn’t be surprised to see MCU Hank “fix” Vision with Wanda.

The answer is probably 'it was the 1990s', but in fairness, a revamp was likely a reaction to Ultron not having a good 1980s, working for other villains and losing a lot. Was it intentional that Ultron became much more kill all humans genocidal after they dismantled his son?

Bringing Vision back absolutely needs to happen in WandaVision, if he's not real and the show is just Wanda going insane why would their fans want to subscribe to watch that? Having Hank be involved is a good idea.
