The kind of main character that is so generic and boring you only care for the villains and side characters because they have more complex backstories and shit to deal with that the main character is too stupid to understand.

intelligent, nihilistic and with a wicked sense of humor

Let's combine these into a quipping slacker douche.

Let's talk more about our villain- we know they should be better written than the MC, tell me more please.

Give him a bulge.

With that outfit he looks like he was born the middle child of a dysfunctional suburban family.

make her female

Cool.

Give MC the optimistic snd naive, sidekick/friend to contrast his intelligent but nihilistic nature. Every good piece of Yas Forums media has that, it’s a classic

For action comics, a main character with strong motivations that only by chance coincide with stopping the villain.
The villain's motivations should be good and only arguably villainous.

But remember he has to be more interesting than the main character too. Make him butt of the jokes who nonetheless continues his heroic struggles with life without complaint.

The main villain represents oppressing the male power fantasy by disapproving of the protagonist's carefree life of video games and smoking pot, yet does nothing to the plot except make snarky comebacks while still putting up with his shit. Basically his mom, except they fall into a retarded obligatory romance plot that takes six months to resolve, where any sane woman would have left his ass on the first date.

so I'm seeing a weird Al type here, loveably eccentric.
She wants to take MC, break him, and elevate him.

>James Rolfe and Calvin race to see who can cuckquean Yukako faster

Who's good for rounding this out?

James! SOCIAL DISTANCING!!!

Additionally: how are we feeling on race?

As adult best friends they obviously live together.

Villain's ex jealous of the attention MC's getting from her who acts as a secondary villain. Make him as '80s as possible, because why the fuck not.

Everyone is white except for a saucy British Indian who wants to fuck Yukako to make Calvin resent brown girls, thus causing a split in their relationship with James

Give the villain girl one of those annoying little fuzzy dogs. Maybe make the dog is vaguely villainous too

the dog is the real villain. she's just being controlled

This, but the dog speaks in ghetto slang. And only MC's friend actually understands.

we're starting to build quite a line up team.
What genre is this story?

a yandere

reddit.com/r/stevenuniverse/comments/fhwb7e/inverted_spinel_is_very_grumpy_today_yes/

the Bisexual Indian with the blue-streak is already p. yandere.

That non-genre of "everything is generally grounded and only the most outrageous thing is the characters themselves", unless there's an actual word that genre falls under

Cute Girls Doing Cute Things except nobody is a girl or cute

So that kinda "coffee shop AU" "sprawling Sitcom that never does anything but update regularly enough that the patreon feeds and shelters the incredibly boring author" sort of thing?

whatever clone high was

And the exact same car crashes into a building every 10th panel
