He was a great character and an example of a flawed protagonist done right imo. I found him more compelling than most male Disney protagonists out there, including Simba, Hercules, Tarzan, Milo, etc

It's true tho
It also showed how hollow the "rich and famous" lifestyle is (much better than Megamind's "Society's fault" lesson)
Yep. The guy wasn't greedy or materialist. He just wanted money to feel special and get some respect, since he was bullied as a kid and his coworkers didn't respect him. Being a bachelor didn't help either
WTF...ARE YOU SAYING “SHARK FAIL” HAD A BETTER LESSON THAN MEGAMIND???????????
Who keeps shilling this movie?
Who keeps shilling SU and Spinel ?
Shark Tale was a funnier comedy imo. Megamind was more amusing than hilarious. ST had some laugh out loud moments
OP sure is afroamerican
>Never rise up, stay down like the dog you are
That wasn't the moral. Oscar's problem was that he thought he needed to be rich and live in a penthouse to be happy or get someone to love him, while unaware that his coworker and best friend already does.
Why are there so many Shark Tale threads, the fuck did we do to deserve this
What are there so many Spinel and Owl House threads ?
The writers were really smart in showing us his tragic backstory early on in the film. They do so only 10 mins after the character appears. Most films with flawed protagonists wait until the halfway mark to show us why the MC is so flawed, too late imo

It seems to be the hot new Yas Forumsntrarian opinion.
an earlier thread activated someone's autism.
he's right though
A more interesting/lesser used lesson at least
Some lose sympathy for the character when he bets the money on that supposedly rigged horse race instead of paying the loan shark, yet i can see why he did it. The guy had a pretty shitty life. He was a bachelor with a low income, dead parents, a dead end job scrubbling the tongue of whales, bullied as a kid and gets no respect from his coworkers, plus was at the lowest point in the food chain. He just saw a chance to turn his life around for once when he bets the money
dan dun dun dun dun dun dun can't touch this
dan dun dun dun dan dun dan dun
ah oh, ah-oh-ah-oh
STOP
Oscar time
That scene is funny because he does it in the middle of a mob meeting, and after pretending to kill the hostage. Besides, it's not like it's a 1 minute scene with no context to it... youtube.com
Why do you keep trying to force this movie? Did some contrarian e-celeb make a video on it or something?
One major complaint that critics had with this film was the use of pop culture references, which i don't get. All of the references were about stuff like Jaws, Godfather or Car Wash, which were pretty old by 2004. It's not like the film had a popular song or ringtone of that era. Case in point : youtube.com
>has to compare Shark Tale to really bad movies that everyone wiped from their memories
wow I'm convinced
Well, i grew up in that era. Loved Shark Tale back then, yet couldn't stand those mid 2000s films. It was annoying to see ST being lumped along those just for having some pop culture shit in it
I just wanted to say that Lola is hot and that I would force deepthroat her, assert my way through her papilla, and then spray her insides and then all over her eggs.
That is all.
I loved how honest she was with her superficiality. Oscar knew that she was using him, yet didn't care as long he had some pussy. Glad he called it quits after a while
It was pretty cool of Oscar to forgive Scorsese pufferfish for trying to kill him because of the 5000 debt. Not only he forgave him, but also let him become his manager
super-fish-iality
I'm surprised they didn't make that pun when she admits it
