Criticize the Norman and the glider all you want. But Raimi's Goblin suit is best even now. Why hasn't any artist's used this look for any inspiration? GG's just been a purple suit and rubber mask for decades now in comics.

That's why we see Tony Stark from inside the suit looking at the HUD
First of all nice lucky trips and second did you know that the original intention for his design was going to be like his comic counterpart? They tried to make an animatronic mask but it didn't work properly so they made him like what he is here
Actually that suit looks like shit.
As I understand it Raimi wanted the rubber mask/makeup but DaFoe couldn't tolerate it/act through it.
Wouldn't surprise me they wanted a talking mask but couldn't make it work. But I feel like it worked out for the better
Agreed
This is hella dope though youtu.be
It could have been cool
Dafoe hadn't even been cast yet before they ditched the mask for the helmet. It was very lifelike and creepy, but the animatronics and harness were cumbersome and it wasn't practical for day to day shooting.
Green Goblin design is inherently rubbish
but DaFoe was a fantastic Norman
this. the characters were spot on

>Follow the cold shiver running down your spine
Why do MCU villains suck so much?
I think Green Goblin's costume is just impossible to translate into live action. In comics its just a mask, but somehow functions like a real face like he's mutant or something
I always assumed he just used a shit ton of makeup and some elf cosplay accessories
Wtf is that dungeons and dragons shit. No business fighting a blue and red spider
Based and Spider-Pilled
Does it even have to be a mask? Can't we just make it a mutation like a Jekyll/Hyde thing, but not as stupid as Ultimate Goblin or ASM2?
>best suit
user, this is was and always will be Power Rangers tier design.
kinda wish someone would make this JJJ into reaction image
Green flightsuit + purple cowl seem like the best combination to me. Give him some glowing orange goggles for good measure.
RAPE!!!
too soon for good CG or just couldn't get the right special effect team on board?
>2002
CGI just wasn't there yet. Tracking and animating a CGI mask onto a live actor would have been ridiculously expensive and still would have stuck out like a sore thumb compared to its real surroundings.
The helmet was the best all around option from a production stand point.
The closest thing we had to that was Amazing 2.
though I do agree with your idea.
Personally I'm a fan of the Deodato costume
The way I see it, he can have a face mask that simply doesn't cover his mouth and chin, in which case he has some liquid latex shit applied to make it green that he peels off when he's done Goblining
It’s not the best one ever, but it was a legitimately good costume, and it baffles me when people bitch about it. The outfit works in the context of the movie. It was a military program, so of course the Goblin’s persona would be made out of armor and helmets.
>Pure Green Power Rangers Body suit with nothing to catch the eye
Fuck you it's shit
I could have lived with the helmet if they did more with the rest of the suit.
Yeah I forgot to say that. like said if it was unworkable and the "Too spooky for families" narrative is a myth then I think the helmet is perfectly fine it still looks like green goblin in the end. It's the body suit that always gets me.
Maybe if they gave it a purple overlay/battleshirt like it would've all come together (Maybe make the boots and gloves purple too)
>TACTICOOL GOOD
>Goblin face on green with yellow demon eyes isn’t eye catching
Moving the goalpost pretty far there, chum. It’s not about “tacticool,” it’s about the suit matching the narrative.
Cause it's really generic if you put it in a comic.
corrected myself here The mask/helmet works but it's been called The Green Ranger suit for a reason
