Its not a matter of definition. If I was going to watch something like this I"d just watch live action. Interesting designs and freedom to stylize is one of the great things about animation.
Doing something like this just because you can is pretty neat or as a test of your technical skills is pretty neat, but like I said, its a bit of an eyesore.
