For all their mistakes Warhammer40k still manages to get get some things right, Guilliman for example was portrayed as more flawed and just like Luke witnessed his dreams falling apart but nows he's more likeable, charismatic and human, he's broken but never gave up being a hero and is still trying to make the world a better place even if his utopic dreams are gone and is full of regrets, Disney in the other hand absolutely ruined Luke character to make MaRey Sue look better.

I'm not saying it's all bad, just that the franchise is well known for it's fair share of misses and cringe

The abnormal ideas and irony used make the lore "worth" getting into because even if that user doesn't invest in the hobby there's still a story to read instead of dry exposition about maps and models.

Orks are a type of immune system for the galaxy left by the old ones. They will never outright destroy a foe that fights them well, they will merely smash them up good, pillage the place run off and one day a warboss will think back and go "you know what, those gitz gave us a good scrap, let's go back and fight them again". In this way they force those around them to become stronger and when outside forces like the Tyrannids come by they help stem the tide of infection by their sheer prevalence and ability to propagate quickly to bog down invaders by attrition.
