Has this finally eclipsed Alan Moore's Saga of the Swamp Thing?
Immortal Hulk
Not even close. Swamp Thing was a breakthrough for what the medium can do and completely changed that character. This is just standard mainstream comics storytelling with a new Hulk personality. It hasn't even streamlined the character at all, just piled on even more complications to what should be the most straightforward of characters. There's not even much new here that wasn't done by Mantlo or David.
That said, I like the book! But if current mainstream comics weren't such a shitheap, people wouldn't be calling this series genius. It's just an above-average Hulk run.
>completely changed that character
Swamp Thing's character when he was never Alex remained consistent with his character when he was Alex. His origin changed, his powers sort of changed, but in the long term it didn't change who he was.
Give it to me straight; what are the odds Wolverine could appear in this book?
You're absolutely retarded. First things first it's ALEC. The character was changed forever in its scale, going from monster who struggles to do good with his transformation to something with a near infinite scope (with all that Moore included), and certainly a shift to a global importance in narrative. Also to say his powers slightly changed is laughable, he went from Hulking Monster made of moss to The Avatar of all Plant life on Earth.
He almost certainly will at some point, Ewing's too much of a fanboy to not eventually do it.
>It's just an above-average Hulk run.
I honestly can't remember the last above-average Hulk run before this. 00's Pak Planet Hulk maybe?
Bruce Jones run was once all the rage until it started spinning it's wheels.
I liked Duggan's Doc Green stuff. it got blown up by Secret Wars.
Favorite Hulk is Steve Ditko inks over Jack Kirby pencils. Appearing only at night, still a mystery, this Hulk was scary.
Screw your Alan Moore thread that you tried to piggy back on the Hulk.
OP is a fucking faggot.
NOT A HULK THREAD.
