No one can justify the existence of so many Robins

5 isn't even that many

You just neee dick jason and damian the rest is filler

No one can justify a bunch of faggots in tights either.
Comic books are stupid and you're stupid and it's all one big stupid, stupid

Steph was only Robin for like a month she was Batgirl for longer

>No one can justify the existence of so many Robins
Bruce is shit at his job, that's why
Although Damian being a Robin is Dick's doing

Considering Bruce can be a bit of a douche him going through 5 robins seems reasonable

Steph isn't a real Robin. She added nothing of significance to the role.

Dick is the only relevant Robin

they grow out of the role, it happens
wheres helina and carrie

You act like they're all active at once, idiot. There's only ever one Robin at any given time

she was Robin enough for Joker

For them all to have been the sidekicks of one guy for years each raises questions about his age.. among other questions..

It's actually easy for 3/5ths.
Dick was the first, an attempt to provide for another orphan what Bruce felt he didn't have the chance for.
Jason is Bruce weirdly coping.
Damian was out of Bruce's hands but remained placed in his hands so he doesn't turn into an al Ghul plant.

Steph barely counts.
Tim is the big issue, I like what was done with him but logically after Dick's falling out and Jason's death Batman should have seen no good end to the role and put an end to the Robins, maybe let Tim sit in the cave training until he's old enough to be his own man and being Bruce's Oracle, then it should have jumped to Damian being out of necessity since he'd be less likely to obediently wait in the manor.

Do Dick and Jason even have that great a relationship

How can you justify any less, when the next Robin’s character is always very influenced by their predecessor? (Not counting Stephanie, since she was never intended to permanently take on the role.) Tim is probably the most expendable, but even then you lose a lot of interesting traits of Damian’s if you take him out of the equation.

It works out if Batman is in his mid-40s.

Tim is unnecessarily, make him a girl and be lesbians with steph and cass as the new oracle.

Why did they stop showing their legs?

I miss the short shorts too buddy

or just get rid of all three

tim should've just been running around in actual robin panties

It'd be an improvement. They basically made a female Tim with Harper Row but fucked up by making her annoying and ugly.

Came into the thread to post exactly this.

There's a whole site built by diehard fans which puts Batman's story on a timeline. Exact year of his debut/what year is current year today is irrelevant I think.

Batman as he is now adds up around 43-45 iirc accounting for all the mainline canon Robins

Jason existing for some irrelevant tenure as Robin that nobody pretends to care about just so he could die for angstbait and then to come back as an edgy anti-hero is stupid. And Damien's age raises a lot of questions about Bruce's timeline as Batman... You mean to tell me, Talia raped him +10 years ago before whenever the current point in canon lands? And Batman must have apparently encountered the Al Ghul Family THAT early into his career?

I absolutely agree, OP. There are too many damn Robins, if I had my way they would've just been streamlined into Dick, and then Tim (because fuck you I like Tim). That's it. and at most save the Todd/Damian factors for another alternate timeline Batman, where Bruce has been at the game for much a longer period of time to have plausibly established some more cushion between Robin's legacy mantle.

It's better now than it probably ever was post-resurrection.

Every new writer since 200 or so wants to either invent their own OC Robin or Batgirl. I have no idea why DC editorial allows it.
