Take me back
I remember a lot of people coming from newgrounds specifically because of this flash.
I used to think this was pretty impressive, but then I realized it was just a reskin of another flash.
what flash?
this is the first Yas Forums related thing i ever saw. i blame it for my being here.
SOUTHERN CROSS IS TWINKLING AND WATCHING US
サザンクロス!!!
>born too late to experience the old internet especially Yas Forums from 2003 to 2007
>all that is left is some political garbage and shitty attempts to create epic memes to post on social media
Being a zoomer is truly horrible I hate my fucking generation.
your generation is going to start the communist revolution that finally topples this dumb country
celebrate it
Socialist.
Communism is for dirt poor Russians, Socialism is for wealthy vikings.
also it has a sequel youtu.be
Sometimes I think about China. Like Hong Kong is pissed right now but they were given sort of a special status until recently.
Modern technology makes a dictatorship easier to hold than in the old days. Sometimes I think the US is closer to heading towards an "anti-communist regime" that looks exactly like every other corrupt regime, Communist or otherwise.
A regime that looks a lot like how moot ran Yas Forums when he wanted to finally be the boss, except imagine moot could throw people in prison or kill them. Funny people wouldn't just be banned, they'd be making memes in a death camp.
As an user who was around when it all happened, you've only see the highlights. There was pretty much the same amount of stupid shit as there is nowadays. It's was just different flavors of shit. I mean it wasn't as politically charged sure, but it was all stupid shit just the same.
I feel like after this stupid virus goes away we're going to see more pushes for authoritarianism.
thanks
It was more creative. There were a handful of people on the site doing a lot of art and driving a lot of the humor. There were tons of them of /tg/ and then moot fucking atomized them, claiming that there'd just be more creative people who wouldn't mock his shitty moderating.
Replacements did not follow, and most of the boards gradually became about discussing what already exists in it's most route form, instead of being an awesome place where ideas got started.
I mean I saw a thread on Yas Forums today about making games and they deleted it. I cannot imagine why except they weren't talking about an approved third party product or something. That's just how Yas Forums is now.
Not a bad b8.
I miss when demotivational posters were called exactly that.
95% of Yas Forums has always been shit. It's been objectively worse since 2016, but it's never been the shining beacon of creativity that outsiders see when they're only exposed to the greatest hits collection. Even the amusing exploits of EFG were just one drawfag samefagging to make funny screencaps, not real cooperative ventures.
That was Weaver, who actually did a ton of shit before being banned. And if my guess is right he probably got a state-wide permanent for posting on /tg/ because that board was a slaughter and it was one of Weaver's stomping grounds.
He later came back to make a lot of content for /mlp/, then fell out of that when he realized some people were okay with him doing straight up porn. Then Tumblr banned porn and I don't know where he is.
He does fnaf stuff on /trash/ last I saw
/roommates/ or something, I don't pay attention to him anymore. He has a site now too /tg/weaver something something archives or something
oh shit /f/ is still around
I think of lot of fa/tg/uys who considered themselves fans after Rubyquest turned on him when Weaver took six years to finish Nanquest.
I remember watching this but it was years before I ever started browsing Yas Forums. I think I took a glance at Yas Forums around 2008 and I didn't get it or something. The layout was weird to me at the time, the concept of everyone being anonymous I thought felt pointless for discussion, a lot of threads just seemed like spam.
Then years of spending time on forums and realizing they all turn into circlejerks and now I never want to join a site that has usernames in the first place.
He's on trash now
go to /m/ if you wanna experience the old Yas Forums.
that board is almost literally frozen in time in a bad way
He'd been doing softcore porn of FNAF for a while. I don't know if that's new or someone reposting his stuff.
Point is, though, actual talent is a lot more scarce than people think it is. In a community of hundreds or even thousands, you're often going to get like twenty notable people. As soon as the platform deluded itself into thinking they're expendable because "these guys are everywhere", those guys are gone and nobody will replace them.
They did the same thing on YouTube. Just threw the talented people away, thinking they'd get more. Now I hope you like catty make up tutorials because there aren't many people who want to spend hours and hours on an animation or special effects shot just to land in the wastebin.
>being sad about not being on old Yas Forums
>Anonymous larpers, boxxy, even worse mods
Sounds like shit desu
>I mean it wasn't as politically charged sure
This place had a huge hate boner for George W. Bush if I remember correctly
Yas Forums's always been contrary to the mainstream belief. It was far left before 2011 or so and swapped after that.
the whole internet hated dubya
Didn’t stormfront consider this place communist at one point?
Dubya was just so fun to hate though
This short got me into 403 forbiddena so I have that to thank it for

Except for the actual, unironic neo-Nazis on Yas Forums, there wasn't that much upset with Obama in his time. There was a massive right-wing shift when world governments started to realize they could change opinions by fucking with social media websites. You started to see massive disinformation campaigns, and when Hillary rolled up on stage it was like a giant target to shoot public frustrations at.
Obama got a nickname, "no drama" Obama because he didn't really fuck around that much in public or internally. In fact it was sometimes a bit of a weakness of his when you read into it.
I think it was Gamergate when the right wing movements started to get their roots in. moot tried to shut it down, but did it in a backwards and terrible way that successfully killed off legit discussion while fostering the really furious and radical elements.
As a millennial I hate your generation too!
Dont worry though, the gen after you will have nostalgia for zoomer crap, and the cycle will repeat itself. It's all the same in the end.
I dunno. I never paid attention to what they think. I know mainstream media called Yas Forums far-left up until 2011-2012 or so when the flip began to occur.
Most of the pranks were done on right-leaning groups.
Yeah. I barely touched Yas Forums and /news/ up until 2015 when everyone started talking about it so I'll admit I don't know as much as some anons do.
And yeah. Gamergate and Fappening. I have a handy chart
