What is Yas Forums's opinion on RvB?
What is Yas Forums's opinion on RvB?
BGC is top tier and Red>Blue
I liked the freelancer saga a lot
Chorus trilogy is good too
It’s kino and I’m very excited for Season 18
Watching the series again it's wild how fast it whips into plot mode after s4 ends
I basically haven't seen anything past Blood Gulch Chronicles, but I enjoyed that a lot
Thoroughly based, the plot and characterization is unironically better than 90% of officially syndicated animated series
Post-S4 is where I personally feel RvB picks up plotwise but Out of Mind dumps a fucking ton of plothooks all at once
RvB threads make me miss when Youtube had tons of little creative series running.
Arby n the Chief is better and isn't afraid to say the n word
but they say the r word
Do they say the faggot word?
Same s15 was great
BGC was great.
the show was okay until the first season of the halo 3 series.
So long as they keep making PSA shorts, I don't care about the "plot".
Peaked with season 10
>not 9
try 14
I enjoyed Seasons 1-8, hated seasons 9 and 10 (especially 10, when you could see they weren't putting much effort into it by then), loved season 11 as a return to form, started to wane again with 11 and 12, and after that I just lost interest.
I know it's still going, but I've got no idea what the plot is anymore, and what i've read of the whole time travel thing starring Donut doesn't sound very interesting.
I liked the Chorus trilogy but it felt like it went a bit too fast.
That was my main issue, it felt like it was pushed along too quickly and we were just done with it and onto the next thing.
the big twist about both sides being played should have been saved for the third and final season of it, beginning season 12 with both sides working together (arguably) just felt like a lot of wasted time that didn't amount to anything.
Agreed. It felt a bit too "easy" i guess, especially in comparison to the freelancer saga where there were a lot of shitty choices that resulted in characters being fucked over.
I like Felix and Locus as characters but it also sort of felt like most of the Chorus trilogy was Felix pushing the plot along and Locus being there to be intimidating,
I haven't watched singularity but I've heard people say it's a bit of a departure.
The Freelancer stuff killed my interest in the show completely.
I get that, user
the end of season 13 is one of the best endings to anything ive ever seen and even though the seasons after that arent bad I kinda wish it ended there
Are there still series like RvB going on anymore? It seems like most of this fun stuff has gone the way of the dinosaurs.
I like Freeman's Mind but FM2 has been slow and even it feels a lot more dull because of HL2's construction
RvB is a series I wish ended at several spots and then it keeps going and I'm actually glad they didn't.
Machinima died a long time ago both the site itself and to a lesser extent the genre (replaced by short SFM skits but no full series) with the state of modern webvideo (ruined by Youtube) there's little hope for something new to grow in it's place
Got really confused when they moved to halo3 so I stopped watching. This kind of ‘show’, should have never taken itself seriously. Just make funny vidya jokes goddamn it,
Agreed.
Fan driven animations are a dead genre. Even gmod and sfm stuff is kinda dying
The problem was they kept "ending" the Freelancer bullshit, but then brought it right back a season or two later, they were unable to break away from it.
Is anybody of the founding RT members still even working on RvB? voice acting I get but it feels like the size of their company they're almost completely divorced from it now.
Didn't Kathleen get fired? So there's Tex gone. Nathan left RT a long time ago so Andy the bomb's a no go.
Machinima (the art not the brand) died when video game commentary and lets plays became a big thing. It was way easier to record a couple hours worth of gameplay and chop it up into bits, giving yourself an entire series that will usually get decent numbers, rather than slaving away for weeks, maybe months, on a 5 minute video just for it to get barely any views. Also watch time became an important factor in videos getting recommended by the YT algorithm, so longer 15 to 20 minute videos were easier to find than short machinimas. That’s also why a lot of let’s players transitioned into twitch streamers, it’s cheaper and it brings in more consistent views, so it’s way more profitable.
I never got into RvB because I never cared for Halo.
>Is anybody of the founding RT members still even working on RvB?
Nope. RT has an entire machinima team and writing team made up of newer employees. The classic guys (Bernie, Gus, Matt, Geoff) only return to do voices.
Joel, however, fully left rooster teeth a while ago.
>Arin went balls deep into GG instead of doing more with his animations
>Youtube animators are basically dead except for the people who have really simplified styles and can shit out content daily/weekly
>Most Gmod/Machima creators left to do other stuff
>Kitty is dead
>Boschitt hasn't posted in forever
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I HATE THIS TIMELINE
