That thread on Yas Forums went to shit fast. What are Yas Forumss thoughts on this game? Colors look a bit oversaturated and SpongeBob's model looks a bit off to me, but it still looks pretty fun

The idea of people wanting to play a remake of a licensed game was too much for them to handle, so the thread was shat up with weebshitters, trannyposters and baitposting

Looked up a trailer for it. It looks fine bar some personal gripes (all the fire looks like it'll be a bitch to do deal with and some areas look like an acid junkies was in charge of the coloring) but the multiple player turns me off since I don't understand why they would do that past the obvious money reason.

I hope so to, but that's the one thing I haven't heard. I've been getting most of my info from SHiFT since he's talked to devs on multiple occasions and has gone to playtest the game in it's earier stages and even helped them out with certain stuff to help the new game feel like the old one control wise.

I saw someone else in another thread say that they couldn't get Clancy to dub over the lines due to some legal guidelines where if he gets to do redubbing, then all the other VAs have to too. Don't know how true that all is, but i'd hate to have SpongeBob with his annoying high-pitched voice that's in the newer seasons

I know this is a love letter to the fans essentially but I wonder if Nickelodeon is also using this to gauge interest for more Spongebob games in the future. The last one we had was Planktons Robotic Revenge and that one was received incredibly poor.

Maybe. Nickelodeon did force the Flying Dutchmen's goo color to be the same with the show according to Shift, the Speedrunner (he was invited to the dev studio).

The visuals aren't perfect but I will be happy to replay this gem on PC when it comes out.

one thing I think the original does a better job at is mimicking the overall look of the show. The flatter textures do a good job mimicking the look of a lot of the background paintings.

it's a fairly well put together 3D platformer that also acts as a nice love letter to fans of the show
