the show is good actually
The Midnight Gospel
you think you're being clever right now, but no, they seriously didn't advertise it as that.
those websites are unassociated with netflix, and they're just as stupid as you are for claiming it's adult adventure time
I'm 100% sure netflix didn't pay those sites at all
Also not to mention the trailer RELEASED BY NETFLIX that seems to purposefully conceal the actual premise of the series... Its almost like they were... advertising or something... woah
That's what Stirner says you monger
"Ego" is just the name he gives to the collection of memories, thoughts, biases, reactions etc. which are stuck in "your" head
This is like shitting on the Buddha for off-handedly saying "you" when talking to his students
stop being a third worlder
only watched 3 episodes but the parts that aren't podcast clips are the better parts of the show. shame that they are only about 5min of each episode.
But that's not what the ego is, that's some retarded stoner bullshit. The ego is a specific freudian concept that doesn't actually apply in neuroscience. Not only does he not accurately describe the ego, we've moved past the concept itself in our understanding of the brain.
Stirner wrote over ten years before Freud was born you dingus
Stirner was also a political writer and a better translation is "the individual and its own"
Despite the name, egoism has nothing to do with the mental concept of the ego.
He was a philosophical writer who explored the political implications of his philosophy. You're correct that "The Ego and Its Own" is a pretty shit translation which only has so much influence because it was the ONLY translation for like a century.
His philosophy is deeply tied to his conception of "the self" (such as it exists) though.
