Endings don't really don't get much better for long running shows like AT. They worked with what they had after CN cut them off and didn't give them a season to wrap up but rather an event. It was an alright ending that was better than most considering everything they had to cover.

Marceline was present for the whole Christmas tapes thing when we found out about Ice King being Simon, but.. she knew all along, yeah? so did she explain afterwards "you guys didnt know that?" or keep it to herself, or what? obviously in real life they just hadn't thought of that part yet, but in-universe it feels like that should have come up the first time anyone was like "hey there's this guy with ice powers and a crown fucking things up" with Marcie in the room.
