THE LAST KIDS ON EARTH

Jack is a fucking sociopath that treats death on a massive scale like it's part of a video game, and acts like the other kids are NPCs in his story. I would not blame the other kids if they abandoned him in a pit somewhere.

>black character
>is the smart one

>Pretending that being the smart one in this group is an accomplishment

At least they dropped the whole video game motif after the pilot and the first episode of the season. That would've gotten annoying forever.

Kinda felt bad for him for the whole Thrull him, though.

>Kinda felt bad for him

Don't. This is the kid that looked at a photo of a happy family that were almost certainly either all turned into zombies or ripped to shreds by zombies, and went "I never had a family. Woe is me. Me me me."

We should feel bad about this family, why?

This crap looks like shit, damn

I think he was talking about a different family when he was exploring some random house.

His parents sucked

It would be interesting if he really is portrayed that way, but the writers didnt put mich thought into it. This show really is written like a cartoon for small children and retards with preschooler intellect. Would be fine if it wasn't also so boring.

t. coomer

We shouldn't, but if a character finds out that a happy family were all either turned into horrible monsters or brutally killed, and his reaction is to throw a pity party for himself instead of going "aw, those poor people" then that's one horrifyingly unlikable character. He's barely capable of empathy, and has to be practically reminded that it's something he's meant to show.

Not gonna argue that. And to be fair, they do explore why he's so clingy regarding his friends and why he takes Thrull's betrayal so hard. They don't do the best job at it, but it's not ignored either.

He nonetheless comes off less as clingy and more as increeeeeedibly self-centered. Douchecanoe actually didn't share a way out of the mall because he got it into his head that his "quest" needed them to have a meal together. The show is filled with moments where he could've gotten everyone killed.

Mega for s2 when

I like to give a reason that he was raped by his step family, or that he was abused, which is why he has that sociopathic personality

The designs are very bland but true to the illustrations in the book and the animation is actually super nice. It uses the same puppet rigging as Tangled but I think it actually looks less obvious. My main reason for watching really.

I mean he did get abandoned.
Seems like it'd make sense he'd just go "fuck you, got mine" or at least insist he feels like that.

The writers should have taken more liberty with the source material to flesh out his character and make him more likable. He’s ripped straight out of the books. And in fairness the author is trying to make something young boys would find entertaining hence why the characterization isn’t that deep, boys would probably flip past stuff like that. But his personality comes off very badly once it’s adapted and voiced. The other characters get sad and stuff but it gets glossed over leading to a sense of lower stakes.

This show is a lot like the new Carmen San Diego toon where the show is competently made and polished well enough but somehow all the pieces don’t come together in a compelling way.

yeah, but he is still a selfish asshole, showing on the episode where the only living girl wants to see her family again but he doesnt understand why.

I've never seen this show but knowing Netflix, not surprising that the sociopath is one of the 2 white guys.
Again, Netflix gonna Netflix.

>what if CAD
>with zombies

He wants to keep her to himself I think that explains his motives better than not getting the importance of family.

smart boy, knowing they could be the last humans

>it's shit BUT tertiary reasons, so it's perfect, consume and obey, goy
Every goddamn time.

Blame the book. I’ve personally interacted with the author, he seems like a nice guy and was very attentive with the questions I asked but I could see how the characters could have been based off him or the person he was as a kid.

Eh it’s not shit, it’s just bland for anyone older than 13.

He gets called out about it and starts getting better in the books, but the cartoon hasn't reached that point yet.

if it was the girl or an asian you'd still complain.

thats pretty fucking racist user, we are complaining rn because that black kid is way to autistic to survive an apocalypse

>goy
