I thought it was funny that this rpisode guest starred a Make A Wish kid, and all that happened in the ep was Ron telling him to fuck off.

This episode is from Season 4. As I recall, the show was only planned to have three seasons, but its sheer popularity got it brought back by Disney. The climax of Season 3, when Ron and Kim kiss and officially become an item, was meant to be the series finale.

So, yeah, this really was a season in which they did not give a fuck. It's like the extra season of Justice League Unlimited.

It also was because it was super popular in Germany and they needed a few more episodes for syndication there.
Disney execs asked them "what will kids get out of the finale?" And they snapped back "Forty four minutes closer to death."
