I am, tbqh desu.

For me, I'm cautiously optimistic again. It shouldn't be that way after I mostly enjoyed the first movie, though I do need to give it a rewatch.

It look funner than the first one

Are they really gonna kill and bring back Chris Pine every movie? Because he looks like he's gonna die again.

I am the exact opposite of excited. I hate Gal's Wonder Woman. Hell the studio is aware she's a plank of wood, hence why Chris Pine was called back as Steve. Her first film was so mediocre I'm actually annoyed about the praise it gets, simply for being one of the least offensive DCEU movies.

Wonder Woman deserves better than this. I think the 2009 animated movie is 10x the film the one we actually got.
He's probably going to die again because he's brought back by a monkey paw wishing stone that's sapping Diana of her powers.

It's baby steps. I mean the character hasn't exactly had the best image the past decade or so, so anything positive at this point helps.

The character hasn't done really anything in the general public eye. Hell most only know Wonder Woman from the Linda Carter show.

>Still forcing Maxwell Lord as a Winder Woman villain instead of just using someone like Dr. Cyber

I think people either ignore or forget that Gadot was actually bad in the first movie, but what kept her afloat was Chris Pine’s performance. It was like watching a worker do his job and his co-worker’s, and he pulled it off.

She was in the Injustice games which were very popular. Of course she was an irredeemably violent bitch in that which might be hard to separate for the people playing it since Batman still kinda feels the same. You'd probably have to go back to the Justice League cartoon in the 00s for the last time many normalfags remember her.

That's what so damn frustrating; Diana isn't even the star of her own movies. You can tell the studio knew how to shoot around Gal, because this is very much Steve's story, and Chris has more lines than she does.
Injustice hasn't done any favors for any character.

>I think the 2009 animated movie is 10x the film the one we actually got.
Yes. I don't have a problem with Wonder Woman. In fact, she's probably my favorite female hero. That said I found the first Wonder Woman film fucking insufferable and I felt absolutely no desire to continue watching. It's almost like her "ferocity" or sense of lineage wasn't there and what we got was embarrassing.

I'm actually still kinda genuinely surprised that we're getting Wondy movies to be honest. It actually seems kinda surreal.

And honestly, since the first movie was alright, even though I'm kinda disappointed in a lot of stuff about it, it's better than nothing.

Exactly. Now that WW succeeded the first go around, people are like, yeah, we deserve this and that, people always loved WW. Before the movie happened, people were saying this shit is gonna bomb, nobody cares about this character, especially with DC's track record up to that point.

>nobody cares about this character
I do. I just ask for better

Because WB doubles down on their fuckups, and when they “fix” their fuckups they simply double down on another extreme.
The best decision would be to get rid of Gadot. She can’t act, and like you said, Diana can never have a strong foundation of character or story with Gadot in the role, because she has no charisma. Wonder Woman needs to invoke power, confidence, and yet manage to seem empathetic. She is an ideal warrior, yet also a caring person, and Gadot can’t convey those things well. Pine basically acted the fuck out of his role to the point where he gave Diana character too. The best idea would be to recast her, but WB’s too stupid to actually do it in fear of backlash from people who don’t even watch their movies.

I would’ve like a Wonder Woman movie that took place in the 70s, and had her going undercover Bond style to track down Dr. Cyber, who begins selling her weapons all over the world, but is in reality trying to take over the world and in turn destroy the Amazons to neutralize their threat.
I would’ve had Maxwell Lord be Diana’s (platonic only) partner, an agent assigned to help her.

Forgot to mention you could even use Blue Snowman as a mid-boss for Diana to fight. You could make Blue Snowman Cyber’s assistant that Cyber gives the suit to in order to do some of her dirty work.

>I would’ve like a Wonder Woman movie that took place in the 70s,
Frankly I'm sick of this period piece crap. It reinforces the bad idea that Wonder Woman is dated, or only works in an earlier era

I actually think the opposite. I think it allows Wonder Woman to feel unique, in that instead of each movie just being in one period of time or skipping 60 years at a time, we get to explore Diana in multiple settings and play with what made movies of those era cool.

You sound like a working class chump. I bet you thought it would be a great "investment", how you would wake up to a warm, healthy breakfast to start off your long day. Maybe, you even had a couple thoughts about all the other nifty little uses you could find for the thing, how it would help you cook healthier meals in general, shed a couple pounds off the old gut, boost your confidence around work and with the ladies. Yeah, maybe that slow cooker would start your life cooking again, wouldn't it? I can see your strained hands holding the box and reading through it carefully at the store. A little bit pricey, but you're the type of guy who thinks everything is more than you can spend, aren't you. And look what happened to you. Look what the slow cooker did to you. Fucked you over, and made you clean it like a useless bitch. You don't even fucking like oatmeal. Piece of shit, you've been repeating those three words your whole life, haven't you. Yeah, how was work after that piece of shit fucked you over? I bet it was on your mind the whole day, you probably didn't say shit to nobody. Can't be telling people about your mistakes. How your little fix yourself plan, failed you. Don't want people to start thinking you're the failure. You're the piece of shit, all along. You don't want that do you? You don't want to be the piece of shit everybody secretly whispers about, do you? Was your father a piece of shit like you? I bet he never had a slow cooker. He had a woman, a house, a damn good job. I bet it's slow cooking you the fuck alive, isn't it. Comparing yourself to him. How one day when all the steam runs our of your life, you'll discover how you're nothing more than burnt shit to be scrapped off and thrown in the trash.

I'm in the boat that says an origin story for Diana would work perfectly fine in the modern era, and prevents stupid obstacles to write around such as her supporting cast being regulated to a specific time period. I'm not a fan of contrived reasons to keep Steve Trevor or Etta Candy around while Diana remains ageless.

I would've had WW in the present day right from the get go but honestly, this sounds pretty solid. On paper, it's better than 1984 to be honest.

>but WB’s too stupid to actually do it in fear of backlash from people who don’t even watch their movies.
I think you're projecting how you feel onto the average person watching these movies. There isn't a huge mob wanting to remove the actress as Wonder Woman. People loved the character in BvS, even before WW. Most people seemed to like her despite her shortcomings, just like they liked Aquaman despite the actor not being great. This reminds me of GOT in recent times. Like I thought the lead actress was terrible for a number of reasons, but I completely understand why people liked the actress and could look past those things on screen to enjoy the character.

yea, I've been a fan of wondie ever since some body story timed the WML stuff and the trailer looks real good. here's hoping the Cheetah is less underwhelming than Ares

Just let the DCEU die already. No corpse should be this violated
