Are the best parts of life really just finding momentary distractions to keep yourself busy so you don't think of the harsh realities of life for a second? I can ride roller-coasters, meet new friends, and spend time with my family all day long. But it doesn't change the fact that the sun is just gonna explode. And all of this was for nothing.
Are the best parts of life really just finding momentary distractions to keep yourself busy so you don't think of the...
I don't know maybe there's too much emphasis that our lives have to matter at all that at an early age we are told to make something out of lives. That if we don't leave something behind we were never here to begin with. Maybe nothing does matter.
Maybe that's the point. That because the sun will eventually just explode we should just worry about here and now. Maybe just enjoy the fleeting distraction for what they are and don't worry about that they don't matter. Because eventually nothing will matter.
So? We were always gonna die. Might as well have some fun while we can. Even an animal knows this.
Mike carried the pilot pretty hard lets be real.
I don't have the spider man panel but there's some character having an existential crisis and he brings up how the here and now are what you should worry about.
If this is it, you should make the most of it. If you have an immortal soul, the choices you make here will stick with you forever. So try to do good either way.
Also you're quoting a man who found his purpose by shooting little pink fuckers lol
The best part of life is finding something you enjoy and people you enjoy.
Focusing on the cosmic horror of reality or the fleeting nature of time only has one conclusion which is "guess I'll die" which if you're going to make your whole life about "guess I'll die" just kill yourself
Like the only way to enjoy life is to somehow make your legacy last a trillion years. How long after your death are you expected to be important? Is life better thinking there's some grand plan someone else made for you, or do you not have the confidence to make one yourself?

Yes.
haha niggers funny
nihilism is a mental illness.
Also the big bang is a theory, it never happened.

Yep!
Bazooper
Idk how people feel about this cartoon, but I'm happy for Psychicpebbles getting a shot on TV
Hey, brainlet.
Theory =/= Idea some nerd made up
>nihilism
That's not even true nihilism, it's just a 14 year olds idea of what "nihilism" is because he heard it once and never read any actual books about.
The big bang never happened.
What's real nihilism then? Either way it's still a mental illness.
I found the pilot really weak, only watched for my boy plinket. I liked the creepy boss, character, though
Sounds like more of a reason to get invested in life to me. Distract myself from inevitability
>just finding momentary distractions
if you can only find momentary distractions then you failed
>Nihilism (/ˈnaJ(h)JlJzəm, ˈniː-/; ) is the point of view that suspends belief in any or all general aspects of human life, which are culturally accepted. Most commonly, nihilism is presented in the form of existential nihilism, which argues that life is without objective meaning, purpose, or intrinsic value.[1] Moral nihilists assert that morality does not exist at all.
Nihilism is pretty simple, they way you deal with it is another story, also it's not supposed to make someone depressed or catatonic unless they are mentally ill and this episode show it well
everything is a momentary distraction user
it's the moments between that things come into focus
a trillion years aint shit
we aint shit
If something else doesn't wipe out humanity in the billions of years before the sun explodes, won't we have already colonized other star systems by then?
Animals aren't aware of their existence like we are. They exist on pure instinct
The sun isnt going to explode.

Surface level nihilism believes "Life has no purpose. "
Philosophical Nihilism believes "Life has no purpose, except that which we give it." It's about inventing your own reason for existing rather than believing in destiny or fate or whatever.
Isn’t that just free will?
Sort of. Both believe in free will, but surface level nihilism tends ti manifest as despair or hedonism because "fuck it, nothing matters".
Deeper understanding believes "I can instill meaning in my own life through art, devoting myself to a social cause, or leaving a legacy. I can create a meaningful life for myself."
Ummm, sir? How exactly are you able of knowing what happened billions of years ago?
pretty cool ant honestly
