While I agree that she was the weakest Avenger in hand to hand combat she made a planet fall asleep when it was enraged and trying to attack. I actually think her not being able to make Thanos fall complete was a plot hole.

I feel like there should have been a scene where some flying hero puts Mantis ontop of a leviathan and then she makes it enraged and attack Thanos' own troops.
But yeah, earlier in the fight, she puts one of those gorilla things to sleep.

The entire scene could have featured more individual talents across the board. But the movie was already a day long.

It's telling that there was a lot of stuff they wanted to do in the final battle that they couldn't deliver because they wanted to stay at the 3 hour mark. I legit don't know what they can take out and yet keep the movie working. Like maybe take out Tony's reunion with his father? I don't know.
It might also be a case of the Russos feeling that there was no need to give the Guardians much of a showing because they were originally going to have GOTG 3 the year after, but then the delay happened.
