Was the animation change the reason this show failed
Was the animation change the reason this show failed
It was largely mocked before then because of Jake's slang.
that and because the show sucks
action themed cartoons were always treated badly
Only Ben 10 has been a success story
especially when you debut in the mid 00s
Am I the only one that didn't mind the new design?
It looks like a Virgin vs Chad meme.
Left look like he posts on r/hapas
Nope, it made the show better.
The Season 1 designs never looked right to me. They felt too clean and rounded.
It looks cheaper and it was.
Second season looked better and had better writing in it.
Nah the change was good. Season 2 also took itself more seriously which I loved
I don't mind the change, but I am baffled by it. They spent a lot of effort to address a non-issue. It doesn't even look cheaper/simpler to animate.
You can see the last of the 90’s animation style die with S1.
Good
I never liked the older designs when I was younger. Still don’t.
Jake looks worse dragon looks better
No, each iteration of this thread has illustrated buff scaliefags are just obsessive whiners.
Why does jake remind me of deku
season 1 jake long was actually hot
Better human designs, worse dragon designs.
No. It was due to having an obnoxious chigger protagonist and being a blatant rip-off of Danny Phantom.
Fuck, Juniper Lee blatantly ripped this show off, but managed to be much superior in every aspect.
>being a blatant rip-off of Danny Phantom.
I don't think you want to bring up DP and rip-off in the same sentence.
And DP is a ripoff of Alex Mack, and so on and so forth.
whatever you prefer season 1 or season 2 art style. is almost never good idea to do such a drastic design change from one season to the other.
i cannot think of a cartoon who changed the design as much from one season to another and got away with it without giving the show some kind of subtitle to imply is a somewhat new show, like ben 10 omniverse or teentitans go.
i can only think tawog and even there the design change wasn't as extreme.
i don't think shows that have the same name but are actually different shows, like the horse show and the first thundercats remake count.
I hate S2's artstyle, but thats not why it failed it just didn't have much of an audience and Disney didn't care to renew it.
I found it to be a mixed bag of better and worse.
Don't know. The show sure looked fucking lame though. Some little asian peckerwood with a Dreamworks expression turning into a dragon? I guess idiot preteens would like it.
I never finished this show does Jake bang Rose at the end?
Okay, so I'm not the only one that hated the new art style. Shit was lame.
Pretty much, yeah.
