Let's have a wholesome Tangled thread, alright? No abuse. No nipples. No feet discussions.

Good luck user

I want Cass to sit on my face and pull my hair

Anyone have that greentext of Cass running off with Raps? Not the classic one, the one where they actually make it a few years and everything slowly falls apart.

Also we await your efforts user

Huh. So that just happened. I figured something like that was gonna happen. I think season 1 had a better spread of episodes.

It's been a long time. What are you referring to? That webm is adorable.

ok

I'm talking about the conclusion to season 2. I'm getting started on season 3 now.

I'm afraid season 3 fails to deliver on the setup established so well in S2. But the S3 premiere itself is excellent. Tells us your thoughts on 2 then, compared to 1? The Great Tree is generally considered to be the peak of the series, what did you think?

Would you mind explaining how it fails to deliver?

I liked the longer episodes, they always deliver. But I liked the tone in the latter third of season 1 better than the leadup to the conclusion in season 2. It felt more consistent in season 1 because each episode was fairly dramatic all throughout, whereas it felt like season 2 they would have essentially a kiddy plot then unload the foreshadowing/plot at the end. I started skipping episodes cause I was getting bored, and I never really felt like I missed anything.

There's a Tangled thread on Yas Forums.

Lets talk which episodes in S2 you skipped

Lantern Festival is not exclusive in China. It's quite popular in SEA countries.

Well it's all downhill from there. Season 2 was the best one.

>It felt more consistent in season 1 because each episode was fairly dramatic all throughout.

It's true, S1 works better as a holistic whole. You have the slice of life in the beginning, but always with enough foreshadowing to keep things interesting, and a steady build in stakes. Then when S2 attempts to reuse the same formula it can end up feeling like a reset. But I must warn you user, the problem with skipping the filler episodes is that some of the show's best moments are the little things. An exchange here, or a facial expression that speaks volumes even if it just occupies a few frames there. So if you skip through the kiddy stuff I worry you might miss out on a lot of that. Which episodes did you miss? I'd regard Freebird and Rapunzel Day One as absolute essentials, even though they contribute basically nothing to the overarching plot. Definitely worth a watch if you skipped either of those.

>Would you mind explaining how it fails to deliver?

They'd done a fantastic job in S2, at least imo, of making Cassandra's motives viscerally understandable and sympathetic. During the S3 premiere you can even root for her. But Cass ends up getting flanderised pretty quickly, reduced to just another stock disney villain. But a lot anons think the finale redeems things somewhat.

I basically skipped everything on the island until they left, and I skipped two of the three episodes in Yesterday's Tomorrow until they left. I wish I skipped some episodes in season 1. I basically skipped 2-4 of season 3. I'm on episode 6.

Admittedly, it probably doesn't help that I've binged the series in less than a week so I don't have the patience to watch them do something stupid or have a silly argument. I'm also coming off Superman:TAS so my expectations might be a little high for this children's cartoon.

But your webm capture is S3 episode 2 user

I've never thought about how short Rapunzel is.

Getting elbowed in the chest like that can seriously hurt

Yeah, but I skipped past it like 6 minutes in. And this episode, about halfway through I skipped to the end.

When does season 2 move past this criminal town?

Beginnings is weird. It's like they wanted to remake Challenge of the Brave, only more explicit with the larger context. It doesn't really make a lot of sense and that's unfortunately the leit motif with writing in S3 in general.
You saw the scene in Cass' room though, right? Right?

Episode 4.

Is it official data? I always think she is 160 cm at least

Eugene may be accustomed to it,

>Why is a kingdom named after a crown

>a lot anons think the finale redeems things somewhat.
The finale has the infuriating courtesy of acknowledging all of Cassandra's good motivations that have till then been seemingly set aside. Pretty much every scene she has with Rapunzel delivers what it must and spells out loud and clear what her character's supposed to be all about. Even her relationship with Zhan Tiri takes the turn it should have long before. For sure I'd call it a redemption of the season's sins, but that also makes it a spiteful testimony that all the bad writing passed in the meantime was completely gratuitous.

Is there another one?

Alternate situation of Rapunzel Day One. Cassandra escapes with Raps but cannot escape reality.

>>Cassandra's heart was beating wildly in what was left of her chest as she ducked into the cave. Rapunzel's eyes were wide as she looked up from her painting on the
wall. Cass appraised the snarling drawing of a ruffian with pointy teeth and silly hair. At least she got the nose right.

>>"We gotta move Raps. I saw him in town."

>>"Him again? Why won't he leave us alone?"

>>"You know why. He's after your hair, just like everyone else."

>>"I'd cut it if I could! Then he'd have what he wanted and he'd leave us be! I felt so strange when he looked at me that night. Like something from a dream. He looked so... lost."

>>"...I can't imagine why..."

>>"Cass, are you okay?"

>>"I'm fine. I'm just worried about you. You know I love you, right?"

>>"Hmmm...I love you more."

>>"I love you most."
