Think for a moment on that in a meta sense. People wouldn't be asking for lore if the 'instead' part was good enough that most people here liked it. There are story/relationships/sol shows that people here love to the point where they're golden cow shows but the examples I think you're referring to pale in comparison so that other aspects of the show are preferred.
