Pissy Retailers unhappy about DC breaking Diamonds monopoly

Oh for the love of god.

DC is getting you people books and your unhappy because your specific store is still shutdown and eveything should stop until your ok.

Or you don't like ordering from a different distributor for DC.

Or the new distributors releasing comics on tuesday instead of wednesday.

Also
>Batman writer James Tynion IV subsequently announced Batman #92 will go on sale sometime in June.

Why are faggots so angry about this you don't even pay for comics

I'm pretty sure it's not every retailer upset about it.

Too late, I already canceled my pull list and got a subscription to BLACKED.com instead.
It's cheaper, and the writing is better.

Bendis seems up your alley though.

What does it mean for stores?? Will they not carry DC (when they open)

>reading batman when it's a prelude to killing off bruce to replace with a new young batman
uh

Bruce will be back in a year. It's not even the first time.

Skimmed the link,
it seems some are hesitant because they don't know the discount/deal the new distributors are giving, or how this will effect their deal with Diamond, or something.

Honestly all this shit was just announced. Wouldn't we just have to wait a month and see what works and what doesn't? Trial and error?

So now that DC has made its move, it won't be long before Marvel also ditches Diamond, right?

I mean it's been almost 15 years since the last time, so I guess it's due to happen again.

Is this the 3rd or 4th time?

Marvel's subscriptions were already being handled by one of the distributors since it turned out one of them was Midtown Comics.

They better, I want to read the next issue of Immortal Hulk already damnit.

The last time was Snyder's Endgame/DCYou thing with Commissioner Gordon becoming SWAT Batman, 2015.

And DC couldn't even be bothered pretending that it would last, since the Justice League books still had Bruce Wayne as Batman.

If it works Marvel will copy it and Diamond won't have any contracts with the big 2.

I think for a lot of retailers it's a case of better the devil you know than the devil you don't. New distributor means new pricing, new contracts, etc. And signing a new contract is a daunting prospect if you don't even know if you'll be open next month.

I'd expect Image and especially Dark Horse. Richardson has been pretty vocal in the past about how broken the Diamond model is.

>*expect Image and especially Dark Horse to follow suit.

Thank god I live in a country where you can still buy comic books on the newsstands
I only go to a comic shop when I miss a number and can't find it on the stands anymore
What the fuck is wrong with Americans?

Diamond claims to be coming back in May

my FLCS is closed by order the governor

DAMMIT! No Punchline for a while.

Marvel should get their shit together too. People want Immortal Hulk and Amazing Spider-Man
We don't even know if that's true anymore. 5G probably died with Dan

direct market has more people pick up the books they put out compared to magazine rack/newstand. they suffer less returns/refunds(assuming they agree to even offer returns for unsold books; they have more leverage in the direct market)\

they're still retarded for not embracing digital

5G is over. Bummed about Punchline, what the fuck.

>It's cheaper, and the writing is better
Is this supposed to be wrong?

5G spreads corona virus anyway.

Out of all conspiracy theories, this one just baffles me. What kind of retard thinks that electromagnetic waves have anything to do with a fucking virus?

IIRC doesn't DC own some sort of stake in Diamond and also has a first-look buyout contract with them?

The ones that are legitimately mentally ill.

China is using 5G components they manufacture as infection vectors to insure a continuous spread of the coronavirus outside of China to destroy foreign economies so that China can position itself as world hegemon.

Nope. Geppi bragged about getting rid of "DC has a chance to buy us" clause when they renegotiated a few years ago.
Then a few weeks ago he said he wanted to buy out DCs trade distributor instead (Penguin Random House)

OK, I'll humor you. Let's assume that China wants to spread the virus. Why the fuck would they do it with "5G components as vectors"? All they'd have to do is send out infected people to different parts of the world.
