So I guess they found another distributor? Great.
I'm slightly disapointed to see them splitting one weeks of books across three, though. When are we getting the the other april books? But at least things are starting to move again.

N-Nooo, you told me DC was supposed to die. This cant be happening.

Did they keep any small titles?

Awesome. Maybe now I can get Batman 92

>So I guess they found another distributor?

Yeah, two.

most stores already shut down, they won't be shipping nearly as much

Know the names of the companies? It's nice Diamond is no longer a monopoly.

>DC will be using two new distributors, Lunar Distribution and DCS Comic Distribution to distribute comics. Retailers can sign up with either on a regional basis.

>Lunar is handling accounts in the Western section of North America, and UCS the eastern portion.

Not yet. Unless they add more to the above dates we're looking at May 19 at earliest for Batman 92.

Wouldn't be surprised if Diamond having books locked up in their wharehouses is an issue.

What is Diamond planning?

They'll probably send sicarios to the main office in those distributors.

They realize DC isn't going to wait for them so better get things moving. Good old competition in the market. It's been a while.

Where will they sell to? Almost every LCS and bookstore is closed.

To the few that are still holding, obviously.

Don't they rely on physical sales? Isn't this going to cost them money?

They can't afford to wail tell this whole thing blows over anymore and Trumpet is already trying to force a re-opening of the country soon

Why would comic publishers continue production if there is a good chance they may lose money from a lack of sales thanks to the lock down?

>Trumpet is already trying to force a re-opening of the country soon
He can't force the virus to go away or the states to open up again. He can whine and cry but there is nothing he can do.

Found the Diamond shill wanting everything to freeze for them.

What are you talking about? I think it is stupid to waste money delivering or producing comics you can't profit off of.
The industry should find a way to shutdown and hibernate until the pandemic ends without dying or move to a successful digital model.

My LCS only closed because there were no new books to sell. This probably won't be enough for us to completely open back up right away, but maybe just Wednesdays until Marvel gets on it too.

He can sign executive orders

Getting things shipping to whatever stores are operating allows them to start digital distribution again.

I'd rather they'd had just went digital weeks ago like they originally planned instead of caving to retailer backlash, but whatever.

We both know this industry isn't going to survive until august or whenever the this is suppose to end.

NOOOOOOOOO BUT EVS TOLD ME THIS WAS THE END

Some are still open but have restrictions (like for instance doing curbside pickup or limiting to like 3 people in the store at max). It varies from state to state.

Some bookstores may still be open because they're either doing online sales (like Amazon) or they may be open for curbside pickup. But bookstores wouldn't get stuff from Diamond unless it's Image and Dynamite TPBs.

Shippin to whom? To closed doors?

That can't force businesses or states to open.

The shutdown's were issued by the states, they are the only ones that can remove it.
