So is this the worst reboot/revival?

i like it

Honestly no.
It's cheap trash but it's not the worst. There have been way worse. This show doesn't outright spit on the original and try to take the fans of it down a peg.
We have a lot more examples of a lot worse reboots that have outright made it their mission to destroy the original for the purpose of money. TCR is lazy, but it's not malicious. It's just a combination of a lot of lazy things coming together at once.

PPG is still worse.

PPG is worse

Yeah, this. TCR makes itself abundantly clear that it's trying to be different. And while I can hate it on its merits, I can't hate it on the merit of it ruining the original if it's trying to be something different.

PPG makes no such attempt and it doesn't care.

I wish it were a general sword and sorcery parody instead.

this makes me think of how Disney squandered Dave the Barbarian

for sure the worst reboot right here. Borrowed the dvd from my friends who said it was great. Watched dumbfounded at how fucking stupid my friends were. Had to resist the urge to call them dumb cunts.

While PPG reboot was utter shit, it didn't shit on a dead voice actor or write in original Lion-o and 2012 versions to stroke his ego and call haters poopie heads.

>shit on a dead voice actor or write in original Lion-o and 2012 versions to stroke his ego and call haters poopie heads.
What happened what?

>parody

Fuck parody. Im tired of everything being parody. It's at a point where the parody outnumber the sincere approaches. I want an honest, non mocking, non ironic fantasy adventure show. It doesn't have to be grimderp but can we please just give a shit? Why is it treated as so wrong to care?

>While PPG reboot was utter shit, it didn't shit on a dead voice actor or write in original Lion-o and 2012 versions to stroke his ego and call haters poopie heads.

That one was TTG though, not Roar

was it their cross over then? I only saw the people bitching I'm not about to watch either unless it's Night Begins to Shine.

There's a scene of roar's group talking to old lion-o who calls haters poopie heads, and 2012 is in a cave or something and Panthro's skull is on the ground. It's technically not shitting, but it isn't a good nod to remember him so it didn't need to be there.

This. Baiters and literal dumpster iq retards will disagree.

Yeah, it was a TTG episode. Thundercats Roar is bad, but it's not actively malicious and spiteful like TTG usually is. It was even written by Michael Jelenic, who is not only one of the TTG showrunners, but also was in charge of 2011 Thundercats. So, 2011 Lion-O was a jab at his own show.

Ironically Thundercats Roar seems to understand the original show at least on a surface level. It clearly has it own vision, and I can't dock points for that.
nuPPG tried to sell itself as a continuation of the original, yet it does less to remain faithful to its predecessor than Roar. It misunderstands its source material. Bluntly put, nuPPG's showrunners are dumb.
Ducktales 2017 is in a unique category. It seems to hate the original's spirit. It treats the original shows as carcasses for them to pillage body parts from to build their own Frankenstein, imbued with a different soul.
Sarcasm, incompetence, or malice. I don't know which one is worse, but what I can say is I'm done with reboots.

>Panthro's skull is on the ground
The person who drew that came out and said it wasn't intentional

No it’s grown on me actually

Gotta be ironic so that no matter what critics say you can just shrug at them because clearly you don't care.

Nobody gives a shit. It's ugly and insulting but in a "I'm too old for that shit again" way because TTGO basically made people numb to that flavour of shit.
I'd say that current attempts at making warhammer 40K kid friendly and about open borders and gay rights is more emotionally involving at the moment.

I'm just surprised that CN went with a revival of a property rather than make a new IP. Cashing in on the name makes no sense in this instance unless they really did want to piss people off and get free publicity.

>Ducktales 2017 is in a unique category. It seems to hate the original's spirit.
Are you retarded or just an angry euro

This, PPG reboot deserved way more hate than it got.

>hating the source material
>trying to pay respects to the source material but messing up badly
Which is worse?

I don't like it or the art style, but I will say, I'm shocked at how good the animation can be in this. First example I can think of where a simple art style to make animation smoother and more dynamic HAS been fully realised.

The first Ducktales series is a straight-faced adventure with comical moments, but not comedians. The new show is filled with smug and quips and does the adventure part rather poorly. I don't care if you like it or not, the new show is merely ornamentation.

The original Ducktales took a nosedive when they added the caveman scrappy doo. If you take it globally, it's not that great. it's like ATLA where people who insist in its genius always quote the same 5-6 episodes and ignore the rest. You can't really do that.

My money is "reddit smart" fan who only learn about shows through subreddits high karma posts. They have been leaking there for a while. They crumble when asked to communicate without memes.

Why did you reply to me specifically? But I guess the former.

>I dont care if you like it or not
I don't see how you can bitch about "smugness" and reek of it yourself
Probably, or just more tumblr migrants

Did everyone forget pic related?

Let's combine it into the worst thing known ever.
An angry european reddit-tumblr meme follower who keeps being an annoying contrarian for the sake of it.

The clown world doesn't want people to face hardship and raise stronger by their own efforts.
Express emotions, and be a sarcastic smartass at all occasion because you are special and consequences are bad. We live in a world where adults will cry at failing to cook their hot pockets, it's all about the fragile ones now.

It bewilders me that things like this are made for a target audience that has no no connection to a tv series that sold toys that was popular in the 80s. Something like the various iterations of scooby doo make sense, theres enough of them throughout the years everyone knows what it is. TTG has similar justification, some of the characters show up in other dc works and the setting of the dc universe is familiar. So why the fuck do they choose to use this ancient ip everyone grew up and forgot about instead of just making an entirely new one when it has no connection or relevancy to anything.

you aren't really subtle there, redditurd
