What if this was actually pink in a disguise?
Theory discussing time
It’s a trans metaphor, Sugar’s not backing down from that. Pink is dead.
He's the embodiment of a child tantrum
>SHE'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE
It’s a trans metaphor, Sugar’s not backing down from that. Pink is alive.
Yeah but later in the series it’s implied that pink had destructive yells, and Steven didn’t knew he had that power at that point in the timeline
So which is the truth?
Its so pinfully Pink Diamond. She passed through her other two forms until finally settling on another Steven. Diamonds are unbreakable in the universe so her conciousness is still in the gem. The thing is, she was inert this whole time so it's not like she was witnessing her son in pain and not doing anything about it. She gave him her powers after all. I had a hunch but I dont think Rose would just "die" from childbirth. Thats ridiculous. They even had an episode where Steven wonders the same thing and asks her in her room.
You aint slick Rebecca I know thats Rose.
Based
It's something that has been left ambiguous. Something that will never be explained.
But I think she's alive, even she won't admit it
Wasn't the WHOLE point of that scene to show that pink is gone? Why is this so hard for some of you
>Implying pink wouldn’t pretend to be another person to avoid a conversation with white
She literally did that when she turned into rose
>It’s a trans metaphor
A really clumsy and unfitting one. Trans people don’t angst about whether or not they are their parents, it was always about family legacy but Sugar just had to shove more woke points in there.
Nah, I don't buy it. I feel like if that was the intention, there would've been more hinting towards it. Gotta remember that Steven is something of an anomaly, being a hybrid of sorts and we don't even know how that fully works.
My guess for the "SHE'S GONE!" scene: While Steven can "live" more or less without it, the gem is still a significant part of his being. The pure pink Steven projection is probably just the gem's best approximation of Steven's form/consciousness. After all, that's what a gem mostly is (minus the approximation, their projections are wholly them).
There's no more or less about it, he was in pain and dying without his gem. The "She's gone" was Steven letting out the anger and frustration he'd been accruing with his identity issues and to prove to White that there isn't a Pink anymore. If any bits of Pink actually remained in Steven's gem, he could've talked to her in his room in the temple, instead he could only approximate what she said/believed.
She's fucking gone.
>If any bits of Pink actually remained in Steven's gem, he could've talked to her in his room in the temple
Come on guys. I know obviously people want the catharsis of Steven and the rest of the gems to confront Pink/Rose but half the point of the entire SHOW is that she is gone and while she has a legacy, ultimately, Steven has to live his own live and be his own person. Let's not have these theories for the rest of time, okay?
I was kind of getting at the fact that she was gone. Her gem still exists but nothing that was wholly her. Since a gem is a projection of light (with a lot of mass apparently), the gem itself probably took the form of Steven because that's default thing it would project (i.e: shes gone)
Because the entirety of Pink's being is literally half of Steven. This was said several times throughout the show, so it's hard for us to take the the word of a part of Steven we've never seen before.
What rustles me is they added these scenes in SUF that implied Steven was unwillingly shifting back into his mom as the balance between his human and gem half (Pink Diamond) was getting more and more unstable.
What was up with that?
My bad, misread your point.
I just rewatched all of this show and I realized there's no consequences for anything that happens and after a while all tension is gone
>fascist alien empire is toppled by feelings
>3 giant matriarchs are talked down and become joke characters
>not a single person in the universe has anything to say about what the gem empire did, absolutely no questions or defiance whatsoever
>giant monstrous John Carpenter amalgamation of mutilated gems is also talked down and can apparently is easily fixed by Yellow Diamond, this is of course a throwaway line
>not a single person on Earth has any opposition or say about aliens attacking the planet multiple times
>apparently no one in the thousands of years since gem war, even tried to salvage or understand any of the massive amounts of gem technology/ruins left over
>Jasper fucking dies and is brought back to life 15 seconds later
>concept of shattering is presented as a big deal but apparently its easily fixed
>final conflict is resolved by all the characters crying and hugging
Literally a dumb baby show for dumb babies. There are Disney JR shows with more teeth.
Even the anime donkey show ended with a fight scene and had them actually imprisoning the bad guys because they were two insane and evil to talk down. This show is the biggest waste of time and I'm actually mad it wasted more of my time
user, you were watching Crying Breakfast Friends this whole time and you're a retard for not realizing it sooner.
>>concept of shattering is presented as a big deal but apparently its easily fixed
I agree with you on everything except this
As ....weird as it is, Steven has a bottle of essence from each Diamond. Steven literally kept the Diamonds' bath water in a jar. But that's apparently part of how Diamonds are involved in giving life to gems
its not easy, its just another way that Steven basically has the diamonds on speed dial for whatever he wants
>the gem itself probably took the form of Steven because that's default thing it would project
It cycled through Pink Diamond and Rose Quartz before settling on Steven, like what Pearl did in Steven the Sword Fighter and the Movie.
Because pink wanted to manifest again
I just assumed it was because he saw himself as bad as his mom and like her
The 11 minute run time for episodes was a death sentence. Couple that with them wasting time on filler episodes on a show where they're already pressed for time.
There are episodes in Future that serve no purpose and waste time. No one gives a shit about Pink Pearl and watching 11 minutes of slapstick jokes just to establish Steven is unhinged
Its what happens when you give character designers a tv show and make ukulele playing hippies show runners. They needed a big mean guy with suspenders in the studio to focus them. Shows a mess
That’s not true though, in fragments he took that form, but he wasn’t feeling like he was like his mom
His hair is noticeably more like Pink’s whereas the hair from Fragments was a straight up pompadour,
>Passes through her old forms
>Its canon that you can reset to earlier forms and regain memories from that
>But even if you couldn't its also canon he has her memories and sees more of them the longer he spends in locations where she was.
If you stick by the show don't tell rule then Pink could still be brought back to her original form, but rebecca helpfully threw in a character telling something different because she's just such a wonderful storyteller.
>Literally a dumb baby show for dumb babies.
If you didn't realize this by the end of the movie where Steven's kisses somehow undo a massive death liquid going into the beach right next to it and fix giant chasms like a carebear stare with less effort, you really have yourself to blame.
>The 11 minute run time for episodes was a death sentence.
Bullshit, they gave them an entire movie and its a plothole ridden mess with downplayed stakes that should have massive consequnces but instead are easily repaired by the most asinine things. Or in some cases, not repaired at all, they just let the giant drill filled with deathsauce go off in a massive blast and everyone was fine and nothing important was damaged. Give them more time and they fuck up so hard they make a plot that could be solved with an item used in the first 2 minutes.
literally everything about him was growing, his hair too.
Those are two different hairstyles.
Mostly the same but in different angles, in everything’s fine sometimes he has that hairstyle
