ITT: Sliding timescale stuff that makes no sense

So if Hulkling was conceived during the Kree-Skrull War (published 1972) and was still a baby when Mar-Vell died (1982), how the fuck is he a teenager older than Franklin Richards?

Kinda off topic, but has Marvel ever done giant reboots like DC has?

Forgot to include that Franklin was born in 1968.

about twice a year for the past decade

Shapeshifters age faster

No, but they've rebooted franchises and characters separately countless times.

Time is relative in space

>Franklin Richards

There's your answer. When in doubt, blame Franklin.

The fact that they insist on keeping Magneto a holocaust survivor makes it kind of weird that he and Charles became friends when Charles was young, since now instead of 2 peers it's a young man becoming close friends with a guy 40 years his senior.
Also, it made Magneto being the Maximoff twins' father a bit implausible since they're clearly not super old, which is one of the justifications Tom Brevoort gave for the retcon.

Nah, Maggy just keeps getting rejuvenations.

The closer a character's orbit is to the fate of the universe, the more they're pulled along by it.

Hulkling is in the thick of things, but he's not Franklin Richards levels of in the thick of things. The only way the Richards kids were able to age even a few years was literally leaving the universe.

Magneto only got rejuvenated once in that one Defenders issue where he got turned into a baby. In all of his previous appearances he was still an old man.

the last Secret War

Look, he's in his 90s but he looks like he's 60 and moves like he's 25. He has totally been getting rejuvenations on the sly.

They don't really call it a reboot but yes.

The rate at which X-Men teens age is weird
>Iceman was the youngest of the O5 at 14 and is now in his late 20s
>Colossus was 18 when he started and is now in his late 20s
>Kitty Pryde was 14 when she started and is now in her early 20s, as are the rest of the New Mutants kids (including Doug even though he died when he was still a teen but he somehow aged several years when resurrected)
>Jubilee, Husk and the other Generation X kids were younger than Kitty and are now also in their early 20s
>The Academy X kids have been stuck in their late teens for like 15 years

Heroes reborn but I have never read it.

Not really, the only change Secret Wars did was inserting Miles Morales into 616. Literally everything else stayed exactly the same.

No, they haven't

You can’t even really say insert, he was just poorly tacked on and writers are just now dealing with the mess bendis left

Men don't go through menopause like women. It's perfectly possible for an old man to impregnate a woman. She would just need to be much younger than him. So Magneto would needs to have a may-december romance.

That rejuvenation happened after the sliding timeline was put in place. It can't be too hard to explain away the sixties an early seventies somehow.

The problem is that Magda, Magneto's wife who was supposedly the mother of the twins, is ALSO a holocaust survivor.

Trying to make the runnaways and the powerpack timeline converge to make their lesbian couple age match the current status quo. tips : runnaways went through all the registration era

That's not the current creative team's fault, BKV was the one who established that Julie Power was in her late teens back in 2005.

Remember when the New 52 claimed that Batman's entire career took place in like 7 years? Even though Damian was clearly much older than that?

Because he's the perfect dream boat super special BF that Wiccan wished into existance. Just like America and her entire fag dimension.

Damian is a genetic experiment now isn't he? Or were those just failed clones?

DC's gonna have a hell of a time trying to explain Infinity Inc and the children of the Injustice Society, unless they have the JSA, Injustice Society, and their wives/husbands stuck in Ragnarok prior to having kids and they're ok with a technically-70-year-old-Alan- Scott plowing a technically-70-year-old-Thorn to end up with 20-something year old kids.

They did make a point about him operating in secret as an urban myth for a few years before that but hey, why not ignore that to make a shitpost?

I'm not ignoring it. He was operating in secret for 2 years before Justice League #1, which took place "5 years ago", so that's 7 years.

Hasn't Franklin's age been reset quite a few times?

I remember him being said to be 5 years old up until Onslaught.

I still adore this explanation.
This book was a gift.

Consider this, if the Fantastic Four went up in space together "about 14 years ago", Kamala Khan, who is 16, would have been 2 years old at the time.

I don't see the problem with that, math checks out.
The only problem was that one Avengers mini where Kamala went back in time to after the Avengers were formed, accidentally got her mother killed, and somehow that prevented her from being born even though logically she should have already been born as established in pic related.
