Worst case? It'll be resolved by the end of the episode after some lesson about trust. Hoping that leads to Anne leaving to do shit on her own for awhile

I think it would lead to a multi-episode arc. The new season seems like it would be more dramatic and serialized.

what he did

Man I hope season 2 stops doing the obvious morals shit that season 1 did. Only thing I didn't like about season 1.

>Anne leaves, can't trudt Hop Pop any more.
>Sprig goes with her.
>We get some episodes of the two of them alone in the wilderness

Unlike most cases, she'd be completely right in flipping her shit
Whether or not it'll be a good conflict or not remains to be seen, but I think they're already better off than many other such set up plots

I wonder how he'll form up with the resistance. Would he be a willing figurehead?

It's a show for little kids, of course it won't stop

Well it could at least feel less hamfisted

For some reason, every time I think of this, I picture Anne just saying, "You knew." Low at first. Devestated. Then angrier and angrier, calling him out on him knowing about the box, about how she wanted to get home, about how worried she is for her friends and family, how he knew ALL that, and STILL hid the box with the intention of keeping her there forever. And there isn't really anything Hop Pop could say to defend himself.

and then they both hatefuck each other

This is a distinct possibility, because if happens, Sprig might be ALMOST as angry as Anne. Sprig has become her best friend. Hop Pop has raised him for years. But now he'd find out that Hop Pop had lied to and betrayed his best friend in the world, shattering all the trust Sprig had ever put in him. This is something that could crack the entire Plantar family apart, at this point. I'm not even sure if Polly would take Hop Pop's side, at least without a good explanation.

Does anyone think of that one gag in the episode of that contest show parody, where H.P. made an elaborate fantasy where Sprig and Polly were super rich and Anne was caring for him well into his advanced age was supposed to be foreshadowing of the fact he intends to keep her in Amphibia?

I feel like they're gonna give Hop Pop a fake out death more than anything.

>have retarded kids who get into trouble
>have magic dimension hopping portal box
>bury the box and deny its existence
Hopp is justified.

maddie a good friend who respects the boundaries of her significant others hahaha

Are you insisting a 3-some

if that means that maddie can watch em getting it on then yes

it should be a big deal, something that force Anne to leave the plantar for a time to think about life and trust

>Get all the way to Newtopia
>Find someone who knows how to use the box to get Anne home
>"Alright Hop-Pop, where's the box?"
>"Uh, about that, Anne."
>Cuts to a scenery shot
>"WHAT!?"

I think Polly would stay with Hop Pop if only because she WOULD give him a chance to explain himself. I can't see Anne (and by extension Sprig) staying with Hop Pop for longer than five minutes once they find out.

Gives them a reason to go back to wartwood where the final showdown will happen after they find Marcy

requesting anne being crossed

I find it a bit more tolerable here than in most other shows, solely because it actually comes to a sort of payoff to emphasize how Anne has grown as a person living with the Plantars. They brought out the best in her, while the toads essentially brought out the worst in Sasha.

But yeah, I hope that season two steps away from that formula now that things are already established and the cast is getting out and exploring the world.

I want to be Marcy's paypiggy

What is it like to kiss Marcy?

I'm pretty sure that he's eventually going to cave and go back to dig it up for Anne, only for it to not be there. That'll be what really sets Anne off.
