Why are all the diamonds phenotypically white?

I have my gripes with how SU ended but not giving Peridot a fusion or Lapis one ever again deeming Malachite her only canon fusion is so fucking funny

How is that funny? Peridot doesn't like the idea of fusion and Lapis' one fusion was a traumatic experience no shit they never fused with anyone.

They don't have any traits that would hint at them being anything but white and they're all voiced by white female stage singers. In comparison e.g. Garnet has an afro, dark appearance, thick lips, and is voiced by a black singer.

Okay so? I don't see what the problem is. Also Garnet seems to be the exception and not the rule while she has traits similar to black people not all the gems have that it's just to make her a bit more unique and probably also to fit Estelles voice. There are more than enough "raceless" gems and I'm fairly sure you can lable the Diamonds as raceless.
