Reminder: Garfield is funny, everyone just decided to pretend it wasn’t funny so they could seem above it all, and now most people have been memed into believing it. In fact, I doubt many of you “Garfield isn’t funny” people have never sat down and actually read any Garfield comics

People who think they’re smart for hating Garfield are really pretentious. The whole wave of ironic Garfield humor is frankly embarrassing barring Lasagna Cat.

How do comics from 40 years ago prove Garfield circa 2020 is funny?

I've read a bunch of the 80's ones back when it was still good.
You don't actually believe it's still funny or it hasn't gotten worse since then, no one does.
There are some good ones here and there but it's been pretty bad since the mid 90's on

What? Who said they did?

Garfield 2020 has some chuckle worthy gems, we're just used to the simplification the strip has come to

The Garfield hate has evolved beyond hating just new Garfield into the idea garfield is just shitty.
