>MORPHEUS (Male, 25-34, Open Ethnicity): The Lord of Dreams. Tall and slender, with pale white skin, black hair and two stars in place of his eyes. While careful to fulfill his duties crafting dreams and nightmares, Morpheus is slow to understand the subtleties of humor and even slower to forgive, with a tendency to become self-obsessed.
>CORINTHIAN (Male, 30-34, Caucasian): A seductive yet cold-blooded serial killer with small, ravenous mouths for eyes, which are often concealed by sunglasses.
>RODERICK BURGESS (Male, 40-55, Open Ethnicity): A wealthy businessman obsessed with the occult who, in the early 20th century, attempted to capture Death in a bid to become immortal, only to capture Morpheus instead.
>ALEX BURGESS (Male, 20-27, Open Ethnicity): Roderick's son, a bookish and conflicted young man exploring his sexuality and trapped his family’s legacy to hold Morpheus prisoner.
>ETHEL DEGAN (Female, 25-34, Open Ethnicity): Roderick's mistress, a crafty and seductive force of chaos who steals three powerful items obtained from Morpheus' office, each with the power to wreak havoc upon the world.
>hasn't read the comic You realize Burgess is literally an evil old white man in the comic right? If they raceswapped the Corinthian you'd be chimping out right now. Personally I start chimping out when they announce adaptations. Take it to you fucking faggot OP.
Zachary Wright
Why open ethnicity when he's going to be painted white? Wouldn't it be simpler to just get a white guy than to avoid whitewashing accusations?
I'm going to be completely fair in regard to the open casting for Dream. Though we mostly see him depicted as pic related, Morpheus's form varies depending on who is observing him. For example Nada, his former lover, saw him with dark skin akin to her people, and J'onn/Martian Manhunter saw him as a flaming face.
That means there's gonna be multiple people playing Dream, then
Tyler Cruz
This would be the best solution, but I can't think of many shows or movies for the matter that have done this aside from Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.
William Green
It's a poetic coincidence: almost everything I've ever thought about, from Cuphead to Bone to Dragon's Lair, has dealt with THIS scene from the comic.
And I DO mean coincidence: what's so ironic about it at this point?
He was black for a while in the comics, doesn't matter.
Michael Martin
Obsessed, much?
The Corinthian has a very clear pale white color pallet design that is part of his creepiness, which is essential to his character.
Isaiah Fisher
He is going to be a black woman and have incest sex with Desire. Don't even get your hopes up about this show anons.
Jaxon Smith
That would be too confusing.
Christian Gomez
So does Morpheus and yet they are going to cast a black man in his role like the did when they turned Achilles the ancient Greek hero in to a black man.
Jackson Lee
>MORPHEUS (Male, 25-34, Open Ethnicity) They better at least use bleach white makeup
Ryan Anderson
>with pale white skin Read nigga read
Isaiah Martin
They can't whitewash a black man, that's racist. Morpheus is going to be black and his skin will be darker than Idris Elba. Get used to it incels and bigots. And he is going to have gay sex with Constantine and Desire. >Delirium will be transgender >That scene where the talking face in Game of You talks to the drag queen and tells her she's mentally ill will be cut. The face will instead tell the drag queen that she's a brave and stunning woman.
Ryan Campbell
That's not how feature-specific casting calls work.
Easton Phillips
Like already stated before, Morpheus is established to look different to every person he interacts with. So it's not the same thing.
Tyler Lopez
The first season wasn't good.
The second season was somehow way worse.
I really have no idea how they're getting a third season out of that weak as fuck book.
