>Iroh is so good and wise and noble
WTF is this horseshit? He only turned "good" because he was branded a traitor to the Fire Nation with no chance for pardon when he wouldn't let Zhao kill the moon spirit. If murdering a spirit wasn't part of Zhao's plan that day, Iroh would never have been forced into a situation where taking down Ozai was beneficial, and would have just sat back and watched the Fire Nation genocide literally the entire rest of the world.
Iroh is so good and wise and noble
Ozai is seriously the most overrated character. I'm glad he's been getting hate threads recently. creeper.
You mean Iroh? I don't even use Yas Forums, guess I'm not the only one to think he's character is shady.
iroh, shit, lol. not that ozai isn't also a bad character.
Ozai never changed much over the seasons. Even in the comics, he spells out the political crisis born of using the Avatar to end a century war between the Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom that sets the stage for Korra.
I thought he was always good since ''muh son is dead''
ozai didn't have to be such a bad character if they didn't insist on showing him as little as possible between DOBS and sozins comet.
The problem is that Zuko changed sides and the heroes were slacking off and missed the invasion, they stopped Ozai just as he was going to burn the Earth Kingdom down.
The Fire Nation used science to plan this invasion out from months on end
so? could have still used some scenes before sozins comet and after zuko left to flesh out ozais personality even a little bit.
Iroh would've made more sense as a neutral character instead of just Yoda.
Remember that episode where Bumi vows to do nothing because that's what suits his philosophy at the time?
That attitude would've made sense for Iroh too. Make him "wise" in that he's dedicated to his philosophy, but he doesn't really care about morality.
nb4 someone says "Ozai was meant to be a symbolic force, not a character."
I agree it would've been better if they fleshed him out. Would've been a lot cooler to see Aang defeat him based on Ozai's character instead of the energybending superpower.
Why so many Iroh hate threads? I bet it's the same person.
Another daily Iroh hate thread. Good.
Contrarians gonna do what they do.
How long before this becomes a thread about azula with incest undertones?
Well I imagine watching his son die in battle at the Walled City was it. Imagine, to Iroh, who only ever wanted to cleanly conquer and experience these people. But iinstead he got what was probably waves of these noble people, dying against his own troops who pushed deeper into the heart of this beautiful city he admired.
I bet the Earth Kings parents died in this battle, leaving a weak, ineffectual child to lead, who no doubt led to corruption, masses of taxable refugees were let in to pay the massive Earth Armies (largely inneffectual ones), and eventually a city whose people didnt care to defend it (since all who did died last time). This is all headcanon tho.
i made one of the iroh hate threads and i didn't make this one.
>Imagine, to Iroh, who only ever wanted to cleanly conquer and experience these people. But iinstead he got what was probably waves of these noble people, dying against his own troops who pushed deeper into the heart of this beautiful city he admired.
There's no such thing as "cleanly conquering." Iroh wasn't some diplomat trying to annex a territory.
If he could rise to the rank of general without realizing that war by definition involves killing lots of people, that would make Iroh a high-functioning autist at best.
season 3 isn't as good as people remember it being.
iroh just gets up and leaves his cell
iroh is the best character though because he was voiced by manko aku before they got that replacement for him like they did in samurai jack
He's an unconvetional kind of Sagely character who's path towards enlightenment has a lot of not entirely moral aspects.
I would argue this broadens his insight and wisdom. He can truly see both sides and let go of the illusion of seperation, as he has been on both sides.
instead of stopping the war with the White Lotus he decided to go into permanent exile with his nephew son, he had no way of knowing the Avatar would return. he was content to just let more people lose their sons to war.
Because killing the moon would cause nautral disaster for all humans and ruin the environment.
>sat back and watched the Fire Nation genocide literally the entire rest of the world
He would have never done this. Ozai only settled on Genociding the Earth Kingdom after Iroh was imprisoned.
Iroh's reformation happened after the death of Lu Ten, and he most probably only ever remained loyal to the Fire Nation to save his nephew from becoming a roaming, fanatical lunatic, lost forever to tracking down the Avatar.
Iroh was never a fanatical Fire nation nationalist. Even as a general, he had a reverence for the other nations, and was as powerful as he was due to his understanding of the other nations.
He spared the Dragons and went into willing exile with Zuko after his Agni kai. He never expected to find the Avatar, he was going along with it to try to change Zuko.
so he's a meme character.
What would have stopped La from walking all the way to the fire nation and killing the fire lord?
Remember, La only stopped once they saw that Tui was okay
So really, Iroh saved the entire world and the Fire Nation before Aang or Zuko ever did
Get fucked hotman
Ha ha look at this dumb bitch ugly cry.
She has no friends.
Fuck you
>watched the Fire Nation genocide literally the entire rest of the world.
What is Darwinism for $500 alex?
Ha ha cry dumb bitch. All you get is an empty title.
The nutless faggot would never have gotten anywhere without Azula
Did we ever get an Iroh flashback of him actually being a general?
