PEAK SOUL

Bibleman is my favorite television show of all time. The show is constantly lampooned here; trust me, I understand why. Bibleman looks cheesy to the outside viewer, but it has more soul than any other superhero show on TV. Unyieldingly self-aware, Bibleman gets a bad rap.

The show can best be broken down into four separate eras.

HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
1. Big Big Book (1995)
2. Back to School (1995)
3. The Six Lies of the Fibbler (1996)
4. Silencing the Gossip Queen (1996)

The episodes that started it all. Bibleman looks a little goofy in episodes, and the show struggles to find its footing at first (the school kids that are forced into these episodes give the show a strange boy meets world vibe), but there’s a lot of charm in these early episodes. Plus, Bibleman literally fights the equivalent of a dirty Jew in the Gossip Queen episode. It’s exceedingly based.

Sir, this is a comic & cartoon board

THE GOLDEN ERA
5. Defeating the Shadow of Doubt (1998)
6. The Fiendish Works of Dr. Fear (1999)
7. The Incredible Force of Joy (1999)
8. Conquering the Wrath of Rage (2000)
9. The Stories of Jesus (2000)
10. Shattering the Prince of Pride (2000)
11. Breaking the Bonds of Disobedience (2001)
12. Lead Us Not Into Temptation (2001)

This is where the show really kicks it in gear. The show shifts formats from a show that primarily gives its screen time to a faggy purple man teaching kids bible lessons to focusing on Bibleman beating the shit out of demons with his yellow lightsaber. Bibleman gets not one, but two costume changes and the show ascends to kino status. Shining star in these episodes is Luxor Spawndrof, a recurring villain that stars in almost all of the episodes in this era. This guys hams up his performance to the max and makes the shows absolutely hysterical. Pick an episode here to start your Bibleman journey, you can’t go wrong (except maybe stories of Jesus, kind of a meh episode)

THE SLOW DECLINE
13. Jesus Our Savior Part 1 (2002)
14. Jesus Our Savior Part 2 (2003)
15. A Light in the Darkness (2003)
16. Divided We Fall (2004)
17. A Fight For Faith (2004)

This is where the shows starts to decline. A lot of things go wrong here. For one Luxor Spawndrof is out. His actor is never featured on the show again. Second, he’s replaced with a villain who does a bafflingly horrible nutty professor impersonation. Bibleman gets a badass costume change to all silver in these episodes, but that doesn’t soften the final blow: Willie Aames, lead actor for Bibleman, leaves the series in episode 16. The replacement actor for Bibleman is charisma blackhole. A former youth pastor from California, he provides none of the Bantz necessary to play Bibleman effectively. This proves to be the final nail in the coffin for the series.

The show exists in both forms.

"If only you knew how bad things really were" ERA
18. Terminating the Toxic Tonic of Disrespect (2006)
19. Tuning Out The Unholy Hero (2007)
20. Crushing the Conspiracy of the Cheater (2007)
21. Lambasting the Legions of Laziness (2008)
22. Blasting The Big Gamemaster Bully (2009)
23. In the Presence of Enemies (2010)

These episodes are absolute dog shit and are probably the primary contributors to why people think Bibleman is corny Christian shit. It’s obvious that when Aames pulled out, the money went with him. Production values go way down in these episodes and everything suffers. The acting is shit, the sets are shit, the makeup is shit, the villains are shit. Worst of all, no more soul remains. Avoid these episodes like the plague.

This isn’t even touching stuff like the live episodes (which are bretty good) and the animated episodes (which are rancid dog shit). Hope this gives an idea on where to start your Bibleman journey!

>The show is constantly lampooned here
If by constantly you mean "occasionally"

Fair enough. I see it more on other boards than here, but it does happen.

what the fuck I had no idea it kept going into these years

Better to live in ignorance than despair in the truth.

Soul basically just means nostalgia.

Imagine being an unironic fan of bibleman

The animated show is so shit compared to the live action show
You're missing out

I watched a couple of episodes of the live action show ages ago. I was really only interested in bibleman beating the tar out of people with a lightsaber. looking back, there was some odd romantic tension between biblemans sidekick and his AI assistant

I think its funny but i dont take it seriously. Id watch it ironically if anything

I remember this coming on the christian channel (Smile of a Child) that I used to watch purely for davey & goliath. And since I didn't have cable back then, that's what I watched. Don't remember anything about it though

You'd be surprised how good the show is when you take it seriously. There's even Charlie Sheen references.

>all of these goofy weapons
>suddenly MISSILES

I didn't watch that much of the show but I did see the gossip queen episode and I can confirm it was indeed very based.

>Being an unironic fan of Bibleman

Even the boxing fetishes are normal in comparison

Bibleman frequently fights jew caricatures, this shows hilarious but at its own expense

what did he mean by this

The Wacky Protestor is a rad villain.

>high budget bible man movie
> deals with Willey Ames juggling being children's TV show persona bible man by day, being the "Specter" gods wrath by night.
>still fights overly silly bible villains
Would watch/10
