94-05 was the best period in American animation by far. All of what I listed ignores the films that were made as well like toy story and iron giant.

The 2010s is one of the best eras in animation, because the creators have so much freedom. Plus, with the internet, we have tons of great indie cartoons.

Anime unfortunately wasn't taken seriously in the west until the 90s. Unless you lived in japan or knew how to get your hands on subtitled tapes from conventions, you were stuck with shitty dubs of anime that persisted until the mid-late 90s and even then the better ones weren't good.
