Cinematic Universes are horrible and restrict creative ideas. You know there will always be a sequel or everything will work out in the end. Nothing is a stand alone self confined story with stakes.

I don't think Alex Hirsch deserves the high rate of success (both in popularity and financially) he's gotten. Based on a lot of crew stories from Gravity Falls, he really comes across as a John K. type who is taking the credit for a lot of other people's hard work.

Ed Edd and Eddy is total garbage. The art style is vomit inducing, the characters all have the same personalities and never shut the hell up, it personifies lolsorandom humor (he talks to a piece of wood, he's a wacky foreigner!) the voice acting is grating as hell, and in general it's just a terrible, terrible show. It's assault on the eyes and ears.

I was really into MMO for the longest time, but after following the “quarantine” storyline Simon is posting on ig, I’m starting to realize that his visual storytelling is bland and repetitive, and the storylines always have the same predictable outcomes. Plus he comes off personally as really full of himself

American Adult Cartoons should hold themselves to a higher standard than "Doodles drawn by a fifth grader + no animation budget + raunchy/gross humor" There's more than a few internet animators who can do so much better with a fraction of the resources some of these big networks are pulling in.

More shared universes in general, and even then that's mostly just because they're being run to be perpetual meandering stories with no real direction.
Cinematic Universes are just more the same, but atleast the lower amount of media allows for it to not be such a bloated mess.
I would say shared universes are okay, until you end up like the MCU: More heroes/storylines than you know what to do with and basically no villains left to challenge them. I'll tell you though, watching 3 other attempts at a cinematic universe fail has been fucking painful. Especially when they have one or two good ideas.
The whole concept has really trapped western comics though. The gimmick has long run its course but there's no painless way to move on.
Family Guy has done more lasting damage to the American animation industry than any other single show I can think of.

I would argue South Park has been the most damaging. Because they raised an entire generation to think shitplay and yelling about jewish peeps is top tier comedy.
