Pretty much all characters are less edgy than they are in the original comic, which is to the series' benefit. The original could get juvenile at times with how over the top it was.

Starlight was somewhat left alone, the main problems is that they changed the relationship that she had with her parents and went through her ENTIRE CHARACTER ARC in one season.
Maeve was completely changed though.
