Why did people hate this episode again? Is it because it was too "mean spirited"?

A child died of cancer and disappointment at the end, OP.
It was a little mean-spirited.

>mean spirited
>intrinsically bad term

Kinda.

Some little kid dying of cancer, thats just depressing.

>Why did people hate this episode again?
Annoying Rob Schneider Announcer guy

It isn't an intrinsically bad term, but I think as a criticism of the episode as a whole it falls short especially considering it was intended to parody feel-good sports movies to begin with and it succeeded at that pretty well.

It was kind of boring.

Don't forget the little kids brutally annihilated by a professional hockey team!

It was a purposefully done antithesis to a generic sports flick. I appreciate they had the balls to try it but it's hardly a favourite.

user is just an average everyday Yas Forums fag, but he's about to find out, having a sore asshole isn't that comfortable.

now this is epic

only the gays hate this episode, you aren't a gay are you Yas Forums?

>'No, he won't listen to me i'm just his father, but you, you're his coach. You're like a father to him!'

I think the episode was brilliant, probably a favorite of mine.

The Red Wings did nothing wrong

It was hilarious in how mean-spirited it was

It depends a lot on your own sense of humor but also if you know what they're making fun off. Part of south park is making fun of current events but still trying to make it timeless.

I ksaw these 'coach' trope movies with the winning team making it big, think it started with 'mighty ducks'. I was also around when Rob Schneider was shit, turning into animals and 18 year old college girls.

When this came out I felt like I was watching the parody and it brought me great joy. Especially the adult team wrecking the toddlers but ending with on the note that adult team was going through the same story arc 'coach' they were going.

Not my favorite, but a definite treat whenever I come to that episode.

"Hahahaha, look at the kids losing, hahahaha, that's what would happen in real life, all feel good movies are shit, hahahaha."

Then they said Trump wouldn't win. Now Trey's carrying the show ,since if he would quit the Chosen Noses would give the show to someone like Gabby "Sucked 53 guys in a row for a good game review" Riviera, who would then change the whole thing beyond recognition, whilst Trey is naked screaming on Matt's front lawn to admit their gay love.

It's one of the episodes where you needed a stronger stomach. But other than that, it was hilarious.

They made the Stan takes part in a cheesy movie plot episode twice before and it feels like they wanted to make a third one just so there were three of them but didn't care too much and half assed it

You're thinking of Zoe Quinn
Gabby Rivera used a Mavel character to project a weird lesbian power fantasy.

>Chosen Noses

it honestly just wasn't funny or entertaining to watch, which combined with it being probably the meanest episode of the entire show just makes it incredibly unpleasant

honestly that was the only good thing about the episode, there's a reason they snuck those bits into Stick of Truth

what the fuck is mean spirited

All comedy is based on the notion of someone suffering.

As much as i hated this episode when i was younger, you can't deny it was memorable.

Do you even know the show you think you're whiteknighting?

i'm not white knighting, i'm just telling the retards who believe jews control the world to go back to Yas Forums, because literally nobody here cares or wants to hear about your conspiracy theories.

Low effort.

>It's the total opposite of those kid sport movies
>that's the joke

This was definitely one of those "we got nothing so here's some stupid bullshit" episodes.
