Why are these movies so terrible? I legit don't understand
DC used to make great animated movies (Mask of the Phantasm...)

user...dude.....that was 27 years ago, I'm not even joking.

Aside from reminding how much time has past we had completely different media formats to advertise and a lot more cartoon competition pushing quality and ideas due to lack of internet and gambling with toy selling procedures.

New 52 happened.

what's with the bluring filther on these movies ?

where did the time go

Remember when people thought that surely this will establish a new standart in the industry?

Instead we have calarts.

They aren't well written, even for cape cartoons and they aren't pretty enough to suck you into the world visually.

Most of the people who did the good DC movies left.

Most of the people who were in charge of the Marvel animated movies are in charge of these ones now.

I feel like that Starfire design was only created to incite nostalgia from the fans of the animated series.

It's like corporate got hold of them and told the creators to look like the comics so they could cross-promote. I agree, DC Animation's recent shit is garbage. There hasn't been a good animated feature from them since New Frontier or Batman: Year One.

>IT WAS ME, THE RIDDLER THE ENTIRE TIME!

As someone who owns the collection and even likes the movie universe continuity I'll be the first to admit earlier ones like Under the Red Hood, Year One and The Dark Knight Returns are superior to the New 52ish line. I don't think they're terrible per say, it's just that the lack a certain charm that Yas Forums media should have to draw you in. They're not heartless, churned out just because they can be, but I think they are made by the inexperienced and on a tight budget, and it shows

He's talking about DC animated movies in general and the reason is that the executives let their cousins and nephews write and direct the movies, so you end up with badly-written badly-acted design-by-committee movies.

They slashed the budgets after TDKR part 1 and 2 flopped.

>even likes the movie universe continuity

It's because of people like you that they keep making these. Do me a favor and burn your house. Then migrate to Antartica.

Assuming this isn't either trolling or an indirect way of bumping the thread why do you care if they keep making them? If they're so bad you don't have to watch them, and their existence doesn't really effect the industry one way or the other

>Why do you care if a company who used to make good movies now are setting the bar extremely low and making very bad movies instead of using their time and money to make good movies like they used to

Come back to me when you become an adult that understands life kid.

I apologize. Do not burn your house.

Fine, New Frontier was just as good as Phantasm and came out in 08.

Hell TDKR duo cane out less then a decade ago and were great.

Can we agree?

> Reign of the Supermen > Death of Superman > Flashpoint >>>> Bloodlines > Throne of Atantis >>>> War

>I feel like that Starfire design was only created to incite nostalgia from the fans of the animated series.

It's a lot fucking better then her recent comic designs 6, 12, 13, 14 & 21.

21 could be better if they allowed it to have cleavage.

they are okay even better thna most of the non canon ones that came after TDKR

>Most of the people who did the good DC movies left.
And one died.

Despite what a lot of people will say, the real reason is that budgets were slashed and production cycles were sped up.

The New 52 was a big drop in quality. You have some solid ones like Judas Contract, JLD, and the recent Suicide Squad movie but the rest are painfully mediocre.

This

They've started dabbling in other artstyles recently, but the best we can hope for is that Apocalypse War is the end of the animated nu52 series.

They're not.

Yeah, they are. They have been since Justice league War

I just didn’t care for the nu52 shit so I stopped watching altogether for the most part the past decade or w/e desu

But Hulk Vs and both Ultimates were good
