My wife recently got into Daredevil (started with #158), she finished Born Again a few days ago and is now into the Nocenti run. Watching her reactions to reading BA was a delight, she was especially moved by the revelation of Maggie's identity. For my money, Matt walking into Kingpin's office ("Mr. Fisk is expecting you") is one of the most gripping moments in comics.

It started when I was deployed, I was having her send me comics and since she was bored a lot of the time she started reading them before she mailed them. I got lucky in that it was "her idea" to get into them, keeping me from having to push.

I think it's a lot more meaningful if you start with the first Miller run and work your way to Born Again. Some people just aren't into comics, though.

It did back in the 90s-early 00s. Robinson just made a contract with DC where they couldn’t use the character without his permission and that really screwed over the momentum the character had in terms of becoming mainstream. And now we have Stargirl who does a lot of what Starman did but from the perspective of a teen girl which is unique for DC so there’s no reason for DC to go out of their way to get more Starman stuff in books and other media.
