Frank Miller appreciation thread
Adam Brown
Hunter Bell
I love Sin City, sadly is to political incorrect for today standarts, fuck the PC police
Ian Brown
Frank Miller's work is as deep as a puddle.
Lincoln Ross
Did he ever reveal what happened to him?
It was a stroke right? Nobody ages that fast.
Brayden Mitchell
So what? He's an incredible artist and an excellent storyteller. A work doesn't need deep themes to be good.
Brayden Wood
I will admit he's a great artist. Does he do any art for anything he isn't also writing?
Colton Price
Never outright. Stroke and chemo treatment were popular theories. When he was promoting Xerxes apparently there was an ask not to bring up his health and stick to 300/Xerxes/Sin City.
Jonathan Green
dubs and he croaks this month

I didn't read the rest. Overall, Miller is amazing, but he's had some stinkers.
Jacob Rivera
He drew Daredevil with Roger Mckenzie writing and a bit of Batman stuff with O'Neil (which honestly isn't even that good art-wise the Batman stuff, he'd yet to hit his stride)
Joshua Anderson
>Martha Washington
>Shit
get the fuck out pleb. Great story, great art and designs from Gibbons, strong pulp action with a lot of prescient social commentary, solid 8.5/10.
Adrian Martinez

It was shit.
Luis Campbell
None of these are arguments of any kind against its quality, but the last one reveals what your problem is. Sorry you get triggered at the acknowledgement of racism in America.
Jaxson Davis
>Sorry you get triggered at the acknowledgement of racism in America.

I forgot Daredevil: Love and War:

Give Me Liberty was pretty good. The rest of it kinda sucks.

>makes like 3 or 4 legendary comic books
>everything else is shit
What did frank miller mean by this
Landon Turner
What is even the issue with the anti-racist message in Martha Washington? All Miller says is "black people deserve equal opportunity in America and leveraging government power to prevent this is wrong". You're an absolute pussy if this triggers you. Are you calling Frank "what are you retarded or something" Miller an SJW?
>inb4 more Muh Jewish conspiracy shit to hide your inability to present an argument
Alexander Johnson
He wrote the greatest comic book of all time. He's one of a handful creators I'd actually care to meet.
Nicholas Jones
Goes to War was on the same level imo.
Owen Gray
He meant that your taste is embarrassing.
Jackson Long
Most writers have 0 legendary comics in their catalogue.
Blake Jenkins
>All Miller says is "black people deserve equal opportunity in America and leveraging government power to prevent this is wrong"
They have more than equal opportunity which is facilitated by the government. Everything about your post is retarded.
Xavier Reyes
I'm not getting into a muh racism argument here but to claim the book has a problem with hamfisting an anti-racist message in detriment to the story is lunacy.
Austin Murphy
It was still enjoyable but neither Miller nor Gibbons are as good as they were in that initial run.
Ryder Cook
>Elektra Lives Again
>Shit
too easy to tell it went over your head
Jack Wilson
Gabriel Kelly
I first glanced and thought the description referred to the book below it and thought this list was god awful
now I see this list is perfect
Gavin Morales
pretty deep puddle, bro.
Julian Hall
Year One is in my top 10 comics.
Nolan Murphy
Needs Ronin and Hard Boiled.

>Pretending ELA is 2deep4u
Please. I loved Lynn Varley's colors and Miller's portrayal of Matt was good. The issues lie in the narrative. If Bullseye's spine and most of his bones had recently been shattered, how was he sitting in his cell in perfect health? If he'd been healed by Dark Wind already, how was the Hand ninja able to stick an inkpen through his adamantium skull? How could John Garrett make an appearance if at that time he should've been either A) President Ken Wind or B) a roboskeleton floating in a SHIELD vat? What's the point of resurrecting Elektra only to immediately kill her the next time she appears? There's a reason every succeeding DD writer chose to ignore ELA, it's basically a What If? book.
Hudson Roberts
I've never read them. How do they compare to the rest of his work, in your opinion?
Gavin Diaz
You have excellent taste
