He’s a grown man who lets everyone bully him. Pathetic. He needs to man up.
Why doesn’t Jerry stand up for himself?

You'd have to be either retarded or someone who literally has only watched one episode not to know its literally part of his character that he's spineless. Oh, I forgot that a lot of this shows fans ARE retarded. Particularly the ones who think it's gotten unwatchable.
But it’s pathetic that he’s spineless. He needs to man up and take control of his own life like an adult.
Try manning up to a near god like scientist and his offspring,
I would because it’s MY family.
Because he's afraid of being alone
Because Rick would take the first attempt to put him in his place as an excuse to disintegrate him and go 'What he was coming at me with a pointed finger, I could've lost an eye!'
Not surprised to find out that this scene was written by a female youtube.com
What if Jerry was a girl? Would the world shit on him for being spineless or would the world be ok with it because it thinks girls are naturally spineless?
Why? You some sort of cuck you identifies with Jerry? That's pretty pathetic user. You should get a life.
Jerry represents the old, outdated patriarchal ideal of the family man. When more female writers took over the writing for the show, Jerry turned from a responsible adult that occasionally became the butt of the jokes to a pathetic worm that squirms at the first sign of trouble. This just shows how much the white men is hated in today's society and reflects the various daddy issues coming from the female writers who, coincidentally, are the same writers responsible for the worst season in the show's history.
Nope, but even i felt that scene was the character being too pathetic, even in comparasion to other moments in the show.
Do it then.
Being pathetic is literally his character. You're just autistic and identify with him.
Your family that will side with the scientist no matter what you do or say? Good luck.
Because bad things happen when Jerry mans up.
His cowardliness is the only thing that holds him back from being a huge threat.
Probably the latter
Exhibit 2
I did feel the show was being too mean on him in this ep. He just broke up with Beth, got separated from his kids and yet they still continue to shat on him
>identify with Jerry because he's kind of the underdog
>he keeps getting shit on each episode he's in some way or another
>learn that Roiland made the character to not be sympathized with
shit sucks
>Jerry could conquer the world if he was less cowardly
>Summer could do basically anything she wanted if she was less shallow
>Beth could surpass her father if she wasn't so dedicated to him and her family, and wasn't so afraid of change
>Morty could literally destroy the multiverse if he got angry enough at rich
>Rick can literally do mostly anything he wants, if he had the effort to care.
Is the entire family wasting themselves?
he's an outlet for Dan Harmon's self loathing
>He just broke up with Beth
Thanks for proving my point.
Yes. One of the overarching themes of the series is that people hold themselves back with their own shortcomings that they refuse to address.
Except Harmon doesn't write dick for the show. His record is two writing credits in one season.
>He’s a character the creators randomly decided to target, like Meg. Pathetic. They need to write better.
He used to. Back in season 1 the joke was that he was a spineless coward until the universe gave him no choice but to man up and become badass (see Cronen-verse). It's only season 2 and on when the writing staff decided Rick was an ubermenschian god that Jerry became entirely spineless and incompetent as a point of contrast to Mary Sue Rick.
The only difference is that they didn't write an episode for Jerry to be not-pathetic every season. He's literally the same character, you're just autistic.
If you can't see the diference between season 1 Rick and the way the universe treats him compared to season 2+, you're the one with autism.
The writing is a fuck u to viewers
Jerry kind of did stand up for himself in the last episode and I liked that he had a win, but it was completely dismissed by Rick saying "oh my god, your Dad is so lame".
Rick talks like a fucking teenager now, Season 3 Rick would've probably been happy to see some improvement.
I just wish they'd tone down the cruelty and it would be easier to laugh at him again.
People will shit on you for this, but you're right.
The episode where Jerry gets attacked by that wolf or gets called a sexist by Summer totally reeks of Daddy Issues.
Jerry was funny when he had status in his family and an unwarranted attitude. Watching him fuck up on his own then getting taken down a peg was funny. Everything from S03E02 has been just too depressing, you feel sorry for him.
Like I get that the Smith family are all horrible people but after Season 3, Jerry actually looks the least bad (I suppose that's why everyone ran back to him, but he's still treated like complete shit is Season 4 so what gives?).
