Way back in 2011 the last book ever published with a Comic's Code Authority Seal was sold in comic stores. Pic related.
Do you think there would ever be some kind of industry-wide rating system for comics again? Yas Forums and Yas Forums has a rating system. With comics more popular than ever, it would make sense for some standardization, right?

It shouldn't have existed in the first place and was really just a ruse to kill off all genres but capeshit.
Of course it would be Archie Comics as the last straggler desperately clinging on to an outdated fad.
>With comics more popular than ever
It's hilarious to think that this "authority" literally existed for years purely to read Archie comics and stamp them with a seal of approval that they weren't offensive.
Almost as hilarious as Archie Comics thinking anyone, anywhere, gave a shit that this authority that only existed to approve of Archie comics approved of the Archie comics they bought.
Crazy how these silly teen romance books were censored. Some of these edits are way off base
>With comics more popular than ever
What are you talking about?
Post more.
Looks to me like it was more of a brand thing than anything. Good ol' Archie and all that
When will we see a return of tales from the crypt and other horror comics pre CCA.
>Comic's Code Authority Seal was sold in comic stores
Is that suppose to be a direct market comic?
Yeah, but literally everyone knows how unoffensive Archie is. Those tht are unfmiliar with Archie definitely have no idea what the fuck the CCA are, since they didn't exist for any other purpose than rating Archie comics.
Marvel and DC only dropped CCA in the early 00s
DC dropped it in late 2010/ early 2011
Reminder that Archie is the definition of "How Do You Do, Fellow Kids: The Comic".
Shadows on boobs are too spicy for the youngsters
I don't and would never understand why anyone would read fucking archie.
Go back to bed, gramps
>take a boring romance comic
>turn it into something that's way more boring
yeah 50's were awful.
Words were too spicy too
Archie is fun, ya pleb.
Yeah, when it's running anything BUT Archie stories.
Did you fellas ever heard of Black Cat mystery issue 51? They just straight up removed a panel because it was too gruesome
One of the stories is about a boxer that goes berserk. This is how the story was published under CCA
You should really go back and read comics from back then with a critical eye.
WW's early stuff, the creepy softcore porn, was intended to gaslight children user. And that's not the half of the stuff aimed at kids back then.
Archie's routinely outsold comics that would never get that seal.
This is the original version. Beware, anklebiters! This isn't for the weary-eyed
okay that was genuinely creepy.
Doesn't look any worse than your average EC horror comic.
