Episodes like this really bothered me by how much they further cemented that they seriously need to age the Simpsons up a year or so every few seasons like South Park does. Having a 10 year old going through this sort of plotline was fucking ridiculous on top of being uncomfortable, as are most of the latter Bart romance subplots.
