So how's that a valid critic point? For every work that have some relevance there are plenty others trying to copy its success, you can say the same to literally everything. Art did something different with the medium and created a complety new comicbook tradition that is relevant even today regarding the quality of the comics of said tradition, I don't think that's intrinsically bad, totally the oposite.

The basis for this stereotype is the fact that it was once the policy of the Catholic church that charging interest at ANY rates constituted usury. But interest had to be charged because that's how economics works. Also, Jews were for theological reasons exempt from forced converstions on pain of death. But since they were assumed to be destined for hell anyway some Jews were made to perform banking functions which originally no Christians were allowed to handle as a matter of doctrine. The vast majority of Jews still lived in extreme poverty because they weren't allowed to join guilds or own land. Eventually the church decided that only excessive interest constituted usury and Christians were formally sanctioned as bankers too. The newly created stereotype of the greedy Jew persisted however even as the majority of Jews lived in squalor in medieval ghettos.

I picked up this book expecting it to be a cringey Schindler's List for Furries and was pleasantly surprised to see it didn't try to imbue Vladek Spiegelman with some kind of moral authority just because he was a survivor of the camps, but showed that the experience left him a profoundly dysfunctional man. My grandfather who was a dye-in-the-wool racist for most of his life was pretty shocked when I showed him the passage where Vladek insulting a black man in his care. He basically said "a man who survived all that would be as racist as me?"

This is a typed draft of a supposedly real letter (the original has never been found) with a suspicious history. The document does not have a full signature. Presumably it was initialed by a member of Rosenberg's ministry, Dr. Wetzel. Wetzel was never prosecuted even though he is said to have initialed other incriminating documents. Wetzel was never questioned about this document, and Brack said he had never seen this document before when it was presented to him at the NMT.
