Bumping with Arno.
I liked the Anime. I wish both that and X-Men had gotten 2nd seasons. I've always thought that they meshed well together. It's kind of my unpopular opinion.
The fact we got an asian Hulk before an asian/Chinese version of IM pissed me off
I
AM
IRON MAAAN
it took me years to accept the glowing eyes
Back when Tony Stark was a friggen boss and not just a goofy one dimensional playboy.
Silver Centurion for the win.
>Hey kids, lets talk about being an alcoholic.

Not going to lie the red eyes look pretty nice. When theyre white I think they lose flair, way too generic.
Would be cool if he had a more streamlined traditional suit again instead of the heavily segmented armor.
Old Tony was the best. As a businessman you felt for him. Pages like this are great because Tony is a great boss here even after firing that dude.
I just miss it when Tony was an actual character and not a giant manchild doing a bad RDJ impression or an evil strawman to prop up others.
When I was kid I didn't know if the song Ironman was made specifically for the superhero or not, but it was kino to hear during the end credits.
Great fucking taste my man.
The 90s suits were always fun.
Cool issue, I never got into this run. How was it?
It's been years, but my Iron Man reading phase was between issues 100-200, 200 was a highlight because Tony got the Silver Centurian armor to defeat Iron Monger/Obadiah Stane. That whole arc was great, and Bob Layton was THE Iron Man artist for years on those issues, till that Adi Granov guy came along.
If you like old school Marvel, Id definitely recommend it. If you are really attached to Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man, it might take some adjusting, not as much quips for sure.
Why did they even feel the need to move away from the alcoholic Howard Hughes angle, anyway?
yeah, forwarding a month of salary was kinda nice
Agreed, this one ths probably my favorite.
Im also fond of the 60s suit with the pointed mask edges, looks timeless.
bump
From what I understand that was a one and done thing. Its better to do the story and have the character move on, instead of an endless pity fest. Works better for the character and its more triumphant/complex.
the muscles on the armored robot suits looks dumb as fuck

Good taste, and I agree the 100-mid 200s of the IM comics were great, you have Doomquest and the first Silver Centurian armor there. Good stories.

Tony was always the most professional and kindhearted to his employees. Old Tony as a businessman was the best.
I had this poster on my wall for years growing up, I loved it because this was a time before Alex Ross or any digital painting that is commonplace today, painted comic characters was rare, I loved it.
Because Disney doesn't want to sell action figures of alcoholics to 12 year olds.
I miss Mrs. Arbogast.
60s-90s Stark had issues but was a good man at the end of the day, not the fucking psycho of the last 15-20 years they've turned him into.
>Agreed, this one ths probably my favorite.
I like how it looks like he’s wearing pants, the 90s armor was a great time.
>Im also fond of the 60s suit with the pointed mask edges, looks timeless.
That will always be a favorite, also the all gold old one.
She was great.
>60s-90s Stark had issues but was a good man at the end of the day, not the fucking psycho of the last 15-20 years they've turned him into.
All Tony was was a businessman who was constantly struggling with corporate sabotage, espionage, hostile takeovers, and having to live a double life, also alcoholism. Half the time reading the old books I’m rooting for Tony in business more than I’m rooting for IM to fight someone.
I used to look at the fleer card ads in Wizard magazines as a kid, all beautifully painted images.
Their interactions was always a treat to see happen. I kind of miss Happy too and I'm surprised no writer has ever tried to bring him back because of MCU synergy in modern day.
I ship it. Redhead Samus = Best Samus.
I'm kind of sad never to see MCU Thorbuster - I bet the golden limbs would have looked nice considering how cool the Destroyer looked in Thor 1.
Imagine the raise she got after that.
Thats pretty hilarious.
>I'm kind of sad never to see MCU Thorbuster - I bet the golden limbs would have looked nice considering how cool the Destroyer looked in Thor 1.
Destroyer was the shit and I would absolutely love a golden version of that armor. Both Thorbusters look great.
>Iron Man of 2020
>2020 seemed futuristic as fuck when i read this as a kid
Holy kek.
What happened to us?
Better quality and more legible version for you.
She was unironically best girl.
I always loved old Iron Man's face, it used to look like this -_- and was disappointed the movies didn't have that besides that villain's suit
And don't forget he had actual people working for him, with actual character traits.
Honestly Iron Man has always looked better in Silver/Red than he ever did Gold/Red. Shame the MCU never actually adapted the Silver Centurion.
Does Iron Man have any good runs or is he like Wonder Woman and the Avengers where he has absolutely no defining runs?
>Tony wakes up in an alley in front of Shockwave
>"Tony Stark, your biological failing is getting in the way of your work. You are of no use in this state. I have injected explosive nanobots into your body that will go off if they come into contact with alcohol. By the morning you'll be either sober or dead. I wrote it on the wall so you won't forget. K bye."
I'd like to see pic related with the text from the Ironman cover.
Classic Runs
>Byrne
>Kaminski
>Michelinie & Layton
>O'Neil
2000s Runs
>Ellis
>Busiek
>Knaufs
>Fraction (YMMV)
>Taylor
Forgot to add while not a full run, Hypervelocity by Denham and Warren is underrated.
>Ellis
W E W L A D
There's nothing egregious about Extremis other than it being used a modern jumping point for people starting Iron Man comics and the potential of the transhumanism angle being more or less wasted outside of the Knauf's run.
Thanks man, have a Ghost.
>She was unironically best girl.
Why is always that strong sassy older secretaries that don’t take no stuff is always the best shit?
>I always loved old Iron Man's face, it used to look like this -_- and was disappointed the movies didn't have that besides that villain's suit
Yeah the simplicity of the mask is iconic. Sometimes they would even draw it with a nose and it looked stupid.
