Ok... Can anyone explain to me how exactly does "controlling metal and magnetic fields" translate to "being able to reprogram AI"?
Ok...
Stop reading capes.
Millar ain't the sharpest guy in the industry
...maybe he's rearranging the individual bits of data on their hard disk platters?
>I'm rearranging their CIRCUIT BOARDS.
Oh, no, the writer's just an idiot.
He used his magnetic personality.
This. It's possible in theory as all those 1s and 0s represent electric currents, which he could alter with precise control over the electromagnetic spectrum. Just not by switching a few circuit boards around.
I had the same train of thoughts.
While the first would be an amazing feat of precision, computational knowledge, and on the fly thinking and data management it would make sense, kinda.
The other is just dumb.
But when it comes to computer shit in media it's always just dumb.
This is the superhero equivalent of
>3 seconds of furious typing sounds
>"I'm in."
Marvel has always been about half assed explanations and dumb geek logic.
Comics are retarded and the writer has things happen however they want, doesn't matter if it makes sense or not.
Reprogramming something in machine language on the fly like that would require Reed Richard level of intelligence. I don't really X-Men that much, but is Magneto in the "super science" level of intelligence?
>Reprogramming something in machine language on the fly like that would require Reed Richard level of intelligence.
You just need to change kill(mutants) to kill(!mutants). The tricky part is figuring out where to put the not.
>pull out the "mutant" chip
>insert it again flipped around
>now it reads "not-mutant"
Computer science.
He could at most short-circuit them by simply moving around the solderings in a circuit board. But to reprogram them on the fly he would need something like an Antman and a tiny-sized engineer collaborating with him, going inside a Sentinel, reporting what he sees and telling him where to move what.
It does matter you're just a retard and decide to turn your brain off.
This is print("hello world") in x86 assembly on a msvc chip. Pretty much as close as you get to 0101s as a human programmer.
push ebp
mov ebp, esp
push OFFSET $SG5558
call _printf
add esp, 4
xor eax, eax
pop ebp
ret 0
Format is messed up and I actually had a total of 75 lines outputted. So its going to to be even more broken down into binary if mags is playing with it.
Point is don't think about it and just relax, its a comic book. Its the same way lightly clad females don't die and guys with big guns don't fuck themselves when firing.
>that moment every child has when they realise their parent doesn't know everything, and can be just as fucking stupid as everyone else
>and decide to turn your brain off.
And I'm happy while you're miserable.
X-writers being retarded. A common occurrence in X-books. Nothing special really.
Not even that. Just attempting to make modifications to the program can cause it to bug.
Reminder that they should've let based Death Seed Bob genocide mutatns once and for all back in Uncanny Avengers.
>Capitalism is retarded and the jews has things happen however they want, doesn't matter if it makes sense or not.
>It does matter you're just a retard and decide to turn your brain off.
>And I'm happy while you're miserable.
American politics in a nutshell.
It doesn't at all. But why does it have to?
Considering Magneto was for a long time partly Mad Scientist (programming his own Robots/AI henchmen, see Nanny for example, picture related) , he's just using his powers as a shortcut to do what he'd be able to do with his hands otherwise.
He's clearly moving the "human" chip out of the "obey" socket, and swapping it with the "mutant" chip that was in the "kill" socket
Who needs to control the mind when you can puppet the body?
>scott can't just close his eyes
>magneto is able to reprogram an advanced suit of armor
Don't think too much about the X-men. Marvel mutants is one of the few examples of where segregation and even eugenics would be the logical step for the oppressors. There's a chance a kid could make atomic bombs go off by literally blinking his eye.
This is Ultimate Mags, don't think he was ever an evil scientist.
Is there a possibility that he's just pushing off a trigger in the Iron Man suit that essentially dominoes the laser out?
Highly unlikely considering Tony relies on AI and power to operate his suit. Tony can shut down and redirect power in his suit with a simple command as he's trying to do in the page. Magneto is somehow able to bypass all of that like he's hacking the system.
>The Virgin Magneto
>smells like old man
>whines about humans being shit and then does what he claims makes them so shit
>Holocaust survivor but learned nothing from it
>Not even a Jew so he didn't get an entire country after WWII
>guy with metal on his bones still regularly wounds him
>his children fuck each other, making him the Gypsy equivalent of a hillbilly
>wears a stupid helmet at all times; in mortal fear of a cripple
>doesn't understand how computers work
>"I'm rearranging their Circuit boards"
>The Chad Static
>Gets beaten up by racist asshole; still acts like the bigger man
>has a girlfriend, a side bitch, and a future wife at the same time
>learns from his mistakes and takes advice from others; underneath the suit he's still human
>All of Magneto's powers and more
>shuts down robots in feasible ways like overloading or draining them of energy
>doesn't need le tragic backstory to be a hero
>Big dick energy so powerful that his sister's attracted to his superhero persona
Magneto could theoretically short a circuit to trigger the laser, but it's still massive BS that he would know precisely how to do that, and that Tony ordering an override didn't shut it down.
Isn't programming just electrons? Couldn't Magneto theoretically rearrange them to his liking via magnetism? But that would require ridiculous concentration, and be like building a sandcastle grain by grain. Actually 20 sandcastles, considering hes doing several sentinels at once
>"I'm something if a programmer myself."
>Isn't programming just electrons?
It's more like the flow of electrons governed by physical switches which can themselves by flipped by electrical signals.
>Couldn't Magneto theoretically rearrange them to his liking via magnetism?
Yes
>But that would require ridiculous concentration, and be like building a sandcastle grain by grain. Actually 20 sandcastles, considering hes doing several sentinels at once
It'd also require a fundamental knowledge of machine code (the hardest programming language hands down) and the ability to determine how the hardware relates to the code via telepathy. The coding changes themselves would likely be simple. You'd likely just need to change 1 fucking line of code. But it'd be like finding a typo in an an unabridged dictionary in a language you don't speak written in fucking braille.
By the power of shit editing.
>Just attempting to make modifications to the program can cause it to bug.
Yeah, but you don't need it to work perfectly. It doesn't matter if they still think they're hunting mutants as long as they're actually hunting humans. You just need it to work, not work perfectly.
Still, he wouldn't be able to change in assembly, the code would be compiled already.
>3 seconds of furious typing sounds
>"I'm in."
To be fair, I've done that before.
>they left the index page unsecured
Alternatively
>they accidentally left a public link out in the aether to a page that has access to other internal pages without a login check
Never underestimate the human capacity for stupidity.
Its 1s and zeros on a magnetic disk.
>machine code (the hardest programming language hands down)
Ultimate Marvel was a fucking mistake
>nig nog
>chad
Hahaha
>Highly unlikely considering Tony relies on AI and power to operate his suit.
Was that the case with the Ultimate one?
And now that I think of it, I think I was being a little hard on Loeb when came out, turns out I forgot Millar set that stupid idea up with the scene OP posted
Magnetic fields can generate electric currents.
That said Cyclops still should've just closed his eyes
to be honest body language is stretching it as well, it's not like it is an actual language. it's a fucking figure of speech, I wonder if there's any country where it's called differently and this guy's powers make no sense at all
there is a system of body signs to convey information but that has nothing to do with fighting
>nigger tries to meme
>fails at it
Nigger, you ain't as 'Chaddy" as Chad-Neato's pinky.
Why does Magneto keep pretending he is fighting the good fight when he invariably concludes he should start mass murdering every Human, even the innocent? His actions justify aggression against him.
yeah, like why couldn't he?
>Sending big metal Men to fight the Master of Magnetism.
Comic Writers are literally morons, most muties are hypocrites, take your pick.
In the comic, they were literally sent by George Bush Jr. I'm not joking.
Because comic writers are fucking retards.
It is called an asspull.
An asspull that will be brushed aside with "well yeah mutants are not realistic lol"
Came here to say this. How would Magneto even understand "1010101"- type machine code? You'd have to be Cipher to do that.
I don't think Sentinels are made of metal, but some bullshit plastic. Or am I wrong?
OP's pic is from Ultimate Universe
I've literally coded a game engine inside another fucking game before and I can't even fucking imagine this shit being done even if it is "technically" possible given Magneto's powers.
Aside from that, weren't Sentinels made of something non-metallic to protect them from the most public mutant threat in the world who happens to have magnetic powers? If Iron Man can be bothered despite barely ever engaging with Magneto, why can't Trask?
Magneto is the Master of Magnetism and we see him using it on Sentinels.
>muh politics
See this shit? This is why nobody likes you.
