Cartoons you never saw the appeal of

I didn't understand it myself until I turned thirty. Mostly it was the nostalgia of living in a time where interacting with your community was essential and children just sort of hung out together because they happen to be similar ages and what the fuck else were you gonna do?

I find Arnold therapeutic.

Steven Universe
My Gym Partner Is A Monkey
Camp Lazlo
Fanboy And Chumchum

Based. I was excited for the cool backgrounds and soundtrack but the shit story and unnatural characterization lost me pretty quickly

Attached: were_gonna_build_a_rollercoaster.jpg (780x439, 85.46K)

Home Movies
Venture Bros.

Seriously I just don't know what people see in these two boring as fuck shows.

I legitimately don't get why people like this shit, the characters are the most ugly I ever see and it doesn't help that here in LA they gave him the most disgusting, retarded and annoying voice

seriously never search for that shit

Attached: clarence-768x512.jpg (768x512, 29.31K)

The older I get the more I appreciate Arnold, god knows I didn't much as a kid

Same i tried to watch it but I just never got into the show.
>My Gym Partner Is A Monkey
>Camp Lazlo
These as well
I remember how hype I was finally getting CN on cable and then instead of all those cool shows I wanted to see, I got those shows and Juniper lee during the 00's.
Oh well, at least megas kicked serious ass.

Rick and Morty, Family Guy, The Simpsons and pretty much any cartoon sitcom (with the exception of The Flintstones) where it's about the adventures of assholes who commits a lot of cruel jokes on their neighbours around them.

Attached: Rick and Morty.png (1024x1024, 1022.59K)

Does this include Bojack Horseman?

loud house and all that total drama shit

Honesty this. The premise is solid but I think the characters are hideous, the voice acting isn't really good, I don't really find it funny, and even though he's really popular I'm not into Doofenshmirtz

Mid 90's nostalgia, it carries a similar feeling like Hey Arnold! and Ed, Edd & Eddy of just hanging out with your friends and I like his retarded laughs but I admit that at times he does sound annoying.

Why didn't purple girl leave the fat kid alone?

Any animal media. They have no depth and it's always a bunch of mentally ill shippers as well as piece of shit furries who sadly are now tolerated more.

I miss the days when even clean animal threads were deleted by default

At least The Eds had actual jokes in it

This.
Fairly Odd Parents and Spongebob as well.

Rugrats

Agreed, don't understand how such ugly looking characters became so popular. And worse how such a blatantly annoyingly repetitive show lasted as long as it did.

I watched that merman ep, The Hole, even the sock puppets, it just doesn't do it for me.

Attached: GFalls.png (186x272, 111.12K)

this

Literally 85% of the episodes are the same.

Teen Titans. I just don't get the appeal. The only good thing about it is Ron Perlman's voice, and even then his character is completely one-dimesnional.

Venture Bros took a while to be good, end of season 1/start of season 2 is where it's generally agreed where that point starts

Tried watching through it twice. Both times I ended up dropping out mid-season 1. Not saying it's a bad show, it's just not for me

Attached: Avatar-The-Last-Airbender.png (980x661, 903.92K)

Same. I also found villains pretty lame. I understand half of this board wants to fuck Azula, but I don't find her a compelling villain at all.

>Home Movies
Took a while for me to actually like this one, but the dry humor and McGuirk are my favorite parts of it. It's an acquired taste
>Venture Bros.
The characters, the humor, the action, the Monarch and his henchmen, the lore and developing plotlines as the show went on. Like what said it took a bit for it to find it's footing

Attached: 2141605693_da60895492.jpg (500x375, 48.29K)

>I don't like the artstyle
if your argument ends here, you're wrong

I bought the first season years ago and could never finish it because of how boring i found it. Maybe i should give it another go.

I hate to be a "just watch it it gets better I promise :))))))" idiot but it's true for VB

>Unnatural characterisation
Buzzwords. All the characters are pretty realistically flawed.

If you dont like slice of life things you will not apreciate shows like Arnold, Clarence or Craig of the creak.
It's simple. I preffer shows like this than action shows.

>I enjoy RaM
>FamilyGuy or Simpsons are just boring for me

Spiritual fpbp.

Loud House gets shitted upon unfairly by Yas Forumsmblr a lot but this show right here is every complaint about TLH ramped up to 100 and it doesn't even have the fappable characters crutch to fall back on.

Beavis and Butthead. Watching retarded people is uncomfortable for me

>Loud House gets shitted upon unfairly by Yas Forumsmblr
what does tumblr have to do with it
I literally just fucking think the show is bland

Anything Mouse related really. Maybe it's because I grew up on Looney Tunes VHS' but A lot of Disney shows just don't gel with me

Gargoyles
Swat Katz
Samurai Pizza Cats
Symbionic Titan

For reference, I do like action/vehicle/mystery shows like Motorcity, Megas XLR, or Secret Saturdays, it's just those 4 up there I have no interest in, not even for cooming.

Hits too close to home?

This is lasting longer than athf.

>Motorcity, Megas XLR
That reminds me, I don't get the appeal of mech shit. Same as I don't get the appeal of magical girls. Both just seem boring to me.

Honestly, I only like those two for the humor. I can't stand straight mech, hence Symbionic.

Yeah, at the risk of sounding snarky I just thought it was an above average show for little kids. Perfectly fine if you're into it, but not something I saw myself going out of my way to watch.

A few of the out-of-context jokes about how awful the villain's childhood was still me laugh though. Like how his parents both failed to show up for his own birth.

If you outright hated the beginning the rest of the show probably won't change your mind, but I think the rest of the series gets exponentially better after the beginning of seasons one.

And I didn't really like Azula until the series finale where she starts to show some depth beyond being a princess styled Terminator.

This and really anything this guy did like Tim and Eric. They maybe get one good joke an episode, and it's just not worth slogging through the rest of the genuinely bad acting and writing for. I know they were trying for the "dude it's ironically bad" thing but it was just fucking shit. Almost that entire era of AS shows were unwatchable but Tim and Eric have a really retarded cult following that likes to pretend their shows were any better than the other forgettable shit on at that time.

Any cartoon featuring primarily child characters.

Any cartoon made for children after I became an adult, unless it happens to be a cartoon I watched as a child and thus have nostalgia for.

>any animal media
So, half of Yas Forums media, then.
>they have no depth
Hey user, remember the time when cartoons weren't supposed to have depth and were merely pure entertainment?
>I miss when even clean animal threads were deleted
Thanks for letting me know that you're an edgelord.
t. not a furfag

Yes. I also don't trust Bojack Horseman, since I never dared to like any shows with a lot of open adult jokes.

i grew up thinking that if you watched disney (except for KimPossible) over nick or CN you were just fucking autistic.
also rugrats

To be honest, I only liked it because there was a friend to discuss theories with.

This is probably why I like the Oblongs so much. It’s takes the classic “family cartoon sitcom” but instead of the main characters being assholes, everyone around them are

Especially as a non united-states viewer, you guys have your presidents so integrated into your culture that it's just plain weird to watch, and every other joke is always referencing presidency or founding fathers

I feel many shows are ruined by overhyping. I loved this show because it blew my low expectations, and since then it has been a positive feedback loop.

>Buzzword
To be honest I don't know how to describe it and I only used this term to legitimize how I felt.
I just feel they don't act consistently at all, or like any real character would behave in their situation.

The only reason i gave these shows a chance is because they had at least one joke that genuinely surprised me, and i kept watching to see if it was an accident, or decent writing. I don't quite remember which joke it was in GF, but it was during the second episode with the fishing. The one that got me for F&F was the crabs worshipping the wreck and Doof calling it kubricky.

I've seen fucking flash cartoons from the 90s that are better animated.
This was also my problem with ATHF.

For me I don't like child characters that act like children haha. I like the childish wonder, but not the childish behavior.

>Never saw the appeal of
Oh I see why people could like things, I just don't like it myself. "Not seeing the appeal" always felt like more of a state of cluelessness and ignorance.

I used to like Kim Possible, but now I can't stand her for some reason :(

this show is fucking trash

Attached: star dead inside.jpg (764x960, 138.38K)

Word. I especially hate it because I expected it to be good.

I mean, its not exactly a surprise, but the new My Little Pony series. I just... I have no clue how it did what it did to modern culture.

Otherwise, I guess I'll throw Transformers out there as well. Just never clicked for me i guess.

Holy shit this is gold. Thanks user

I think you're overstating the presidents jokes, but Animaniacs is a very American series and if you're not integrated with that country and its pop culture you aren't going to appreciate it as much. Especially since it's a really fast pace show

Dany phantom
Teen Titans
And basically all the super hero cartoons I find them all so fucking boring except 90s Batman this was had spooky shit and love the art style.
