Sally actually got turned into a robot and was trying to kill her comrades if I'm remembering correctly. Things seemed to be on repeat those last few chapters before the reboot. Robosally causes trouble, sonic can't do anything, repeat. I was wondering how they would get out of it, and then boom, reboot.

Yeah, in the epilogues/sequel she gets put into a robot body to become her "ultimate self".
I will say, I did enjoy Shard and Silver's secret agent shenanigans. I'm not sure how much that would work out with Gemerl in his place.

The SecretFreedom Fighters were nice while they lasted. And you've got a point, Gemerl is pretty dedicated to the whole protecting Cream and Vanilla thing. Somewhat like Knuckles, he's a character tethered to one place, and only really helps out when the other heroes need to call in an assist.
