This. It's probably because of sideburns and those ears. It just makes them cuter. Anime has quite an amount of such characters. Usually some Hideyoshis like from Nobunaga the Fool or Seto no Hanayome, or from Ueki no Housoku. I think Shokugeki no Soma had one too? Anyway, they are underrated, good boys all around.
