Batman

What are some awful things from Batman, both cartoons and comics?

>What are some awful things from Batman
Bruce Wayne.

The original Hush storyline wasn't much better, in fact the movie just cut the middle man bullshit since it was basically a Nigma scheme anyway.

>NOOOOOOO NOT MUH HECKIN JOKERINO

Name a worse Batman Character!

Bruce Wayne.

Easy peasy.

Who was hush in the comic books?

I never liked Spoiler. She has no place anywhere near the bat family.

That's still way better.

He's actually fine now. He's great when partnered with Jon Kent or Dick.
I'm glad we forgot about her. What was the point? She never even met Joker nor was she related to him!

A man by the name of Thomas Elliot. He was a surgeon, childhood friend of Bruce, and was born into money like The Waynes. Only difference is that Thomas was never satisfied with anything he had, and wanted Bruce's life. He eventually killed his own father, and resented Bruce because Thomas Wayne saved his mom from the car crash he caused. The bandages were a reference to his medical background, and it was overall a shit mystery. The name "Hush" comes from the rhyme "Hush Little Baby", created by Scarecrow because the other villains teased him for being a bratty spoiled child

Personally I prefer to treat Damian like doesn't exist and it annoys me when I see him pushed in media lately.

She was ok until they tried to re-invent her as a hero for whatever reason who had no ties to the Joker.

A childhood friend of Bruce

Hush was pretty lame in his intro story, but Heart of Hush by Paul Dini fleshed him out & made him an interesting villain.

No, the gutting was horrible. What was all that shit with Bane? What happened to Killer Croc? Why was Bane being jobbed on so hard and portrayed as retarded? If they were going to cut shit out, they should have just removed the part where Poison Ivy mind controls Superman, which was pointless and goes nowhere. And what happened to Two-Face?

Cassandra Cain

user HUSH was a shitty story to begin with, and I didn't see this crap anyway because current DC animated films are New 52 connected crap. I just don't see the point of bitching about Nigma being Hush when Thomas isn't worth a damn, and the entire plot was a Riddler scheme already

It's revisionism that Hush was lame. He was a big deal when the comic came out and really changed Batman's book at that time, with Jim Lee becoming a big deal for better or worse on Batman. The whole shit where Hush is Jason Todd was the big shocker moment that everyone talked about. Then Under the Hood came out and everyone was hyping it up, because of Red Hood.

After those his character didn't really go anywhere for awhile.

faggot

>It's revisionism that Hush was lame.
No, it's not. Hush is a shitty character, and a dime a dozen "evil mirror of Bruce", and the story HUSH was "a big deal" because it was marketed as such like Civil War. It's a casuals entry level Batman, and the plot is crap. The Jason Todd shit doesn't even really matter because it was just Clayface

>user HUSH was a shitty story to begin with
What a gay opinion. Killing Joke is a way shittier story that gets by on being edgy with the Joker.

>Nigma being Hush
Because it's out of fucking character. Riddler isn't a guy on steroids wielding guns an shit like he's the Punisher.

>No, it's not.
It is and you sound fat.
>Hush is a shitty character
Oh, I'm sorry he's not the Joker or Harley Quinn.
>It's a casuals
>muh casuals
Fuck off back to twitter or reddit

>Unironically defend the HUSH story
Jesus get some taste faggot. And I'm not defending the movie or choice to make Riddler Hush, I'm saying it makes little difference given that Hush wasn't even the main antagonist of his debut story.

Oh wait, you're just shitposting. Carry on

Are you talking about the Hush story line being a big deal? I wasn't following comics at the time, but I'd agree with that. It was a big story that pulled in a lot of Batman's friends & rogues.

I'm talking about Hush himself being lame. He was (surprise surprise) the old childhood friend that got introduced at the beginning of the story. Not the biggest reveal, though they tried with Two Face & Jason being suspects. Aside from cryptically quoting Aristotle he didn't have much else character to work with.

user. Hush is fucking stupid and not even the first character that was a Wayne mirror.

I remember reading it and I saw that Jason Todd (?) was hush and it confused me

T. Was a brainlet

Not OP, but I didn't give a shit about Hush. I give a shit about Riddler and how this movie fucked him up.

Who gives a shit faggot. Your one opinion you feel the need to assert over and over like a fat autist. Get over yourself homo. Just because you don't like a villain, doesn't mean your revision is how everyone else feels.

>He was (surprise surprise) the old childhood friend
That's every comic character or villain ever. They always have some connection to the hero.

It was yet another fakeout, which was later revealed to be Clayface fucking with Batman. See at the time DC tried EVERYTHING to make this a mystery, when everyone and their mother called it being Thomas Elliot. They tried shit with Not-Jason Clayface, Two-Face, and I'm sure there's a third one I'm forgetting. But the point is it was shit. Even after the reveal you're left thinking "okay?" and it ultimately doesn't matter because by the end of it Hush was just running errands for Riddler
Are you alright? There's shitposting, and then there's the foaming at the mouth defensive shitposting you're doing. Loeb, is that you?

>DC blocks The Batman from using him as a villain in his own movie and in season four
>DC blocks Beware the Batman from using him as a major villain for the second half of the season
>DC is okay with this, though

>t. i'm-not-mad-you're-mad
Why do you act so fat and gay because people who read a story when it happened all thought it was good? I'm sorry it's not whatever who read new 52 books like, but get over yourself.

Hush was a big deal because
1) It was Jim Lee drawing Batman comics
2) see point 1

So you're saying he's the best villain then.

I'm genuinely confused by your shitposting. You're going for grade school bottom of the barrel insults and not even trying to be subtle. C'mon, user, call me a faggot, put on this posture about HUSH being this written masterpiece only brainlets don't like. Something! Because when you shitpost this poorly, you're just wasting everyone's time

Attached: Oliver is confused.png (1926x674, 1.42M)

I like him, especially when paired with Dick.

>I'm genuinely confused by
I know you are. You came into this thread and immediately started shit posting whining about Hush when it was about how the reveal was about The Riddler and how it was out of character completely and made no sense. Then you whined and started "I'm NOT MAD you're mad" posting and accusing others shit posting for not agreeing with you. Fuck off fatty.

>call me a faggot
You're a faggot

>being this written masterpiece
Alright fatty, what do you consider a good Batman story? Name one then instead acting all fat.

What a nasty slut. Honestly.

She could have been cool though.

Harper Row

I am not against the idea of a "Joker's daughter" character that isn't the Joker's actual daughter, but not like this.

>whined
I called Hush shit, and I agreed with OP
>and started "I'm NOT MAD you're mad"
I said no such thing, and I stand by the HUSH story being complete shit. In fact a lot of anons would agree with me.
>Repeated fat insults and "You're mad"
I get the feeling you have some issues to work out and are projecting. Would you like to talk about them?

Truly spectacular taste. I know I have a tendency to fellate Dini's writing on Batman every chance I get, but let's acknowledge the fact that he was one of the main architects of the BTAS universe as well as the Arkham Universe. Dude knows how to handle both extremes and I think his basic DC work does a good job finding a middleground. Heart of Hush and Streets of Gotham are two books that I remember loving.

>I agreed with OP
I am OP. I was shitting on the Riddler moment.
>I said no such thing
>Are you alright? There's shitposting, and then there's the foaming at the mouth defensive shitposting you're doing

> I stand by the HUSH story being complete shit
Alright, you fat autist don't like it. Good. We've established this. Now fuck off.
>In fact a lot of anons would agree with me
This a no true Scotsman fallacy? Fuck off.
>I get the feeling
No, you've had enough fatty.
>projecting
Post a picture of yourself then. You could prove me wrong at any time.

Also, you never answered about what Batman stories you consider good, because it didn't apply to your obese mentality?

I was mostly okay with Batman: Hush until it came to actually wrapping up the story. The movie wasn't great, but that ending sealed the deal.

Joker and Riddler's designs from The Batman
Batman being a frigid asshole between B:TAS and TNBA
Batman: Brave and the Bold's unironic Bat-wank in the last few episodes.
Batman's squished cowl and face in Beware.

At least the movie was entertaining. Dick and Bruce's interactions were fun and Red Hood had a good cocky+capable vs vulnerable+human balance.

Is OP actually autistic?

Was the Joker supposed to a black guy in The Batman? I always thought he seemed black. There's lots of awful designs in that show. I really didn't like the modern Sopranos take on The Ventriloquist and Mr Scarface. I think the designs more than anything put me off on that show.

>killing joke worse than Hush
Holy yikes

The ending pissed me off. I kept waiting for it to reveal the Riddler was just some fall guy or something and was falsely taking credit to fuck with Batman. Then it turned out he was Clayface. Then it turned out he wasn't lying and he really was Hush for no good reason. It made more sense if it was a shared identity for multiple villains, but is shit if it's just simply the Riddler by himself. So then the Riddler has super strength and agility and smarter than ever... however he conveniently suddenly loses his powers right then and there when he encounters Batman. And the Riddler did all this because of why?

It is. I remember liking it when I was 14 or 15, and then as I got older felt it relied solely on being edgy and shocking.

>Oh my God, JOKER paralyzed Batgirl
>Joker raped and took pictures of Batgirl
>Joker then strips Gordon naked and makes him run thru a funhouse and look at pictures of Barbara being raped
>I can't believe they're doing this in a Batman book!
>And Joker's monologue is just 2deep4u! I love it!

And this story became canon for whatever reason and was largely retconned away.
>Joker didn't rape her
>Barbara got better
>tee hee that wasn't really Joker's origin.

Joker is actually white in the show but he has a black VA.

He's got dreads & a black VA. It makes sense to see him as such.

Because of the black voice actor and the hair I thought he might be black. Is there a worse version of the Joker out there?

Modern Harley misses the point of her original characterization.

Harley is a hybristophiliac-- a woman who's in love with dangerous men and criminals and convinces herself that she's the only one who really knows whatever criminal they're in love with and that they're just misunderstood.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hybristophilia

She's also based entirely on Alreen Sorkin's appearance on the Soap Opera, Days of Our Lives, where she appeared as a jester.

Sorkin doing the character before BTAS was even a thing:

Not to mention they keep trying to retcon away that she's killed people or tried to kill people in the past.
