>Question: What’s the most important holiday in your universe? Yule is the only one they've dealt with. I'll make something about midsummer festivities any decade now. e.g. tapas.io/episode/1051737
>When you google a page because you remember it from your childhood, only to realize that your composition style is 1:1 with the artist you loved the most as a teenager. Fuck.
Owen Price
You got it, boss! I’ll have it ready in a jiff.
I think my stories begin as, like, Existing Property but What If X Instead. A Bug’s Life but with humans running a crumbling dystopia. Madoka Magica except Mami survives and also is Madoka. Hope that helps?
The chapter finale is well underway. Dammit i want to do fan art for people, but i have to get this done. This update is fucking massive compared to what i usually do.
>What's the most important holiday in your universe? Aside from the usual christmas and easter, the biggest holiday in tower city is Scardigrade Week Usually comes some time in fall between September 15 and October 25th. Scardigrade is, as far as anyone can tell, a totally immortal, unkillable, kaiju that is hellbent on the destruction of Tower City. Aside from its brute strength, it has the power to heal from any injury very quickly. Its only known weakness is that it initially heals with scar tissue. It must be routinely beaten into a bloody, gooey pulp once a year and tossed back into the ocean where it will regenerate and return the next year. It usually takes the full week to do this with all sentai teams available given how massively strong it is. The yearly process of dealing with Scardigrade has become so routine that destruction is kept to a minimum, and people use it as a holiday to spend with their families... inside their bunkers.
you gonna give me diabetes because you're so sweet! We might need to collab on a Gurk side story. You could make it adorable.
Just have a bit of a question.... I'm filling in my Space Pack pages with rough backgrounds, and have gotten to a part in the MCs house. I'm not really sure what to put in the hallway, and in general, to make the house seem 'lived in', for lack of better words. Her house isn't anything special, I imagine it not particularly messy, but definitely should have more stuff in it. Just can't picture what outside of essentials like tvs, tables, etc to fill a bit of the empty space.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I have a hard time with these kinds of things haha
I'd say photos on the wall would be a good place to start, maybe some more plants and just a few socks or other laundry lying around
Alexander Ross
Voted for Kyaung because I find the angry traumatized girl with a calm mentor thing cute.
Noah Hughes
Thanks for the suggestion! I appreciate it! Those are always good. More stuff on the wall for sure. Just got a thought of maybe adding some odd knickknacks or memorabilia, too.
Julian Brown
>The monster maker supreme likes my monsters Im honored.
Yeah but generally when a contest is established, the contestants know what criteria they're going to be judged on, you can't just spring something on them later. Being a judge is a responsibility of its own.
Thomas Hill
if anyone in the family is an artist, maybe something they made is up on some shelves. you can do a lot of visual storytelling with that stuff. If someone plays sports, maybe their gear is lying out, not put away properly..
Owen Reed
extra lighting, plants, framed pictures, mirrors, dirty laundry, shoes, entry side table for keys, a place to put her coat or backpack, trash, basketballs, empty packages from amazon, I dunno. Usually whenever I see promo houses that aren't lived in, the walls are barren and there's nothing to show the person's personality or what they like. cute
Asher King
what happens when drakula speaks? do they crush their eyeball?
>The monster maker supreme likes my monsters That is too huge a compliment! I'M honored!! Thank you, Smacky!!
Great advice! Your suggestions are really getting my mind going. I was at a blank before, but now I've got some ideas now on what to add to better showcase personality. I definitely don't want the house to look like a promo!
Thank you guys so much! Helped me a lot!
Tyler Peterson
Meanwhile building interiors in my stuff are blank. I can give good advice but I rarely think of it myself.
>Where's thos links proving Coldfusion is a pedo? Right here faglords.
Julian Roberts
(Oh ffs, ignore this thread derailing autist above me)
I finished the script, finally! Sadly, no time to think, as I must draw asap. I'll ask for feedback about the name of the chapter specifically later on discord.
ikr
This post is gold. Thanks, Gus! I'll promote and use the meme power wisely.
Normally, I would agree. But its MONTHS earlier what we are talking about here. It'd set a bad example for future contests, no matter how good is your entry. Bro brawl finals when??
Can I get a download link with all episodes of "It hurts!" for storytime purposes
Dylan Morgan
>its MONTHS earlier what we are talking about here. oo, fair enough. I do generally believe in 'better late than never' but I didn't realize it had been months
Eli Mitchell
Does anyone have anything I can use to get inspiration for a hero/anti-hero duo?
Like a straight laced cop has to work with a thief with a heart of gold kinda thing.
Elijah Ramirez
How soon the entry got in shouldn't be the only thing influencing a vote but I don't see why it shouldn't be a factor.
Everyone already knows he's a pedophile.
Julian Smith
sounds like every 80s movie
Leo Hill
Nun and prostitute
Ryan Sanders
Goddamn it Coldfusion. Why would you attach your whole online persona to this? What were you thinking?
James Wright
>want to make a story prominently featuring mecha >tfw western mecha media always flops
William Myers
Look no further than Tad Danger for a fun mecha comic, user!
Theme music: youtube.com/watch?v=xpNmmUDHokw >Skullripper Mahoney is a no nonsense orc police officer who is a few months from retirement >*arresting a wizard* "You have a right to remain silent. Any spells you cast, can and will be used against you in a court of law" >Twilight Ramirez is a loose cannon, elf on the edge, who follows no rules but his own >*Shooting goblins with akimbo glocks* "Hahaha i love my job* >But when a threat is too great... >Captain Lich Lord: "You two are going to be PARTNERS!" >Ramirez: "No way im working with this old Orc coot! I follow my own rules" >Lich Lord: "Dammit Ramirez, I will put your elf ass on a shelf permanently! Get out of here!" >The entire shire is endanger and these two cops are going to take down the biggest crime boss in this fantasy land >Mahoney: "Dammit I've been on the force for 300 years, and i aint never seen anything like this!"
You are aware something YOU're currently drawing will be unacceptable to SJWs in a few years, right?
Ian Davis
ok
Noah Sanders
He doesn't draw anything.
Adrian Harris
That's because western artists can't draw mecha. Draw it properly and it'll work.
Jayden Young
SJWs will be panhandling on the side of the road in a few years, since CoronaChan killed the mainstream comic industry.
Jaxon Williams
>ask for advice >get recs instead I fucking hate you.
>draw it properly The fuck does that even mean?
Anthony Morgan
advice on what? You're just complaining that mecha sucks.
Jaxon Adams
>Unacceptable to SJWs You dumb bastard, you drew a cartoon character from a show called forever 12 getting fucked. You think that's something you show normal people and they just shrug off?
Dylan Collins
I'm asking for advice on how to make mecha comic that will appeal to a western audience, dumbass.
Grayson Myers
It's not SJWs. Most parts of the world find your hardrive Coldpedo and they hang your fatass from a crane.
Jacob Martinez
I was defending you saying SJWs won't touch you. Calm down.
And SJWs love pedophilia, as evidenced by them thinking crossdressing children dancing on stage at male strip clubs is 'brave and progressive." They're the issue.
Jacob Watson
From what ive observed, mecha series do have western appeal, they just have a tendency to get written off, due to budget, or production issues. Megas XLR and Symbiotic Titan both have cult followings. Pacific Rim is quite popular too. Transformers has always been popular, though not mecha in the traditional sense, it fills a similar niche. I think it just seems unpopular due to the lack of western artists willing to broach the genre, since it usually requires complex and time consuming designs. Furthermore, you need a good hook with mecha. Its pretty much expected to be Giant Robot vs other Giant Robot/Giant Monster, so you need a twist on that to make it appealing. So if you got some weird, outta left field spin on it, you have a shot. originality is key. Do you have any ideas that you are floating right now?
Jacob Bell
It means drawing it properly so it looks like cool mecha instead of a piece of garbage with a few "robot lines" on it. Megas XLR did a good job, so we know it's possible.
David Wood
Nobody tell him how to find the Yas Forums catalog. He mustn't see the Twelve Forever threads. Fraid you've got it backwards, son. The kooks want to censor everything and care about fictional characters' ages. They want to wrap kids up in plastic until they're 21 so nothing can harm them. They want to cover up everything that was ever normal about adolescent sexuality and replace it with their warped, confused version.
Logan Turner
>Pacific Rim is quite popular too. Not nearly as popular as it should have been. And I think the second movie kind of killed it for people..
